Not true.

Th entire club is close knit and all the players talk to Terry and everyone else regularly. Rest assured they will be getting the same messages.

What, like don't talk to the media? hehe!

It's been one hell of a ride. Maybe it isn't over yet though? I hope that it continues.

I wonder if Nippert realises that by hogging the spotlight he himself becomes a public figure and thereby fair game? Don't get me wrong - if Ali Syed is a crook Nippert is doing a fine service exposing him. But on the basis of his tweets, it really seems that he only got onto WGA because he was after Terry to start with. He really seems to believe that putting Terry out of business would be a public service, and to be fair that is also the view of many of the business class and NBR readers in this country.

(Looking forward to being quoted in his next article as an example of the hysterical, blinkered personality cult that is YF.)Doloras2011-03-08 14:00:34

Set Skippy on him. Go on.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I could unleash Xelandra the Unpronounceable, but last time I did that I woke up in jail.

on other finance related notes, I see that the FFA are taking control of the Roar for next season until a new consortium can take over......the same agreement that've had with Adelaide as well....and that the FFA are not that stressed about the nix going under. Terry's money issues will not affect the nix as a lot of people seem to think/want.

Of course, the FFA wouldn't take over the Nix all on their own - I think they'd expect NZF to pick up a large amount of the tab.

If the FFA get involved - explosion.  If NZF get involved - (much smaller) explosion.

Either way some peoples heads will asplode.

Speaking of the knitting circle, I wonder whether it was one of them who did that great comment on one Herald article re: Terry, suggesting that the A-League isn't any better than the NZFC because Kosta and Marco didn't set the NZFC on fire.

Kosta was playing nearly every week for TeeDubs at 15 and Marco's half season of mainly sub appearances was being talked about everywhere.

The knitting circle (in general) aren't that ill-informed.

You would have to admit the business model for the A-League is not looking pretty. Dump the Fury and still looking after Adelaide and now the Roar and possibly the Nix.
There are many over that side of the ditch who would absolutely spew if the FFA got financially involved to prop up the Nix. Especially after dealing to the Fury.

To be fair they did take a bucket full of loot out of Wellington from the bumper playoff crowds last year and they do need a NZ team to bump up TV and Merchandising revenue.

The NZF won't really want to get too deeply involved but may not have a choice. A Nix-less NZ football scene would send the game here  back to the dark ages.

I am trying to be positive and hopeful but I can't see Terry coming through. The alternative scenarios are all very messy and the eventual outcome is uncertain. How this impacts on the team is hard to know but any delays will affect recruitment and possibly preseason.

All the evidence suggests that Terry would sell his own organs on TradeMe if it would keep the Nix alive. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Wow, check this out. I zoomed in on that "wart" on Matt Nippert's face and it is an actual nipple! Freaky.

What? No I'm not. Krtek was on afternoon TV all the time in the mid-80's. A Czech friend sent me a DVD of it which is now one of my prize possessions. The one with the TV was my favourite.

Oh, OK - it was on the BBC in the early 70s. Can't recall it being on here in the 80s (although I was by then ogling at Trish Yates on Grange Hill).
