He's frantically dialling and redialling Ali Syed's number, but keeps getting the "disconnected" tone, or alternatively a pizza parlour in Dubai.

QFT, especially if he's first year.

I'd be surprised if the Nux are not in the competition next season, even  if Terry is liquidated.

What are all the Uni students doing out of bed at 11 am on a Monday. You're a disgrace.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Don't most unis have the 3 allowed tutorials you are allowed to miss per semester, or is that not common practice in NZ?

I feel sorry for Terry, the crowds after the World Cup didn't seem to get the boost I thought it would have done for the nux to have broken even last season through higher gate attendances. Weather also had an impact I suppose. But you often got 10,000 people in atrocious weather in previous seasons.

Thanks, Egan, but I don't think the Nix's performance is the issue here. Terry would still be up sh*t creek if we'd broken even, considering all his other wheelings and dealings.

My personal feeling is that everyone (Lions, Hurricanes, Nix, ) struggled for attedance, becuase of the stupid money taken out of the sports-leisure economy for advance purchases of World Cup Rugby Tickets.

Not much different in all other centres, for that matter.

crowd attendance and club profitability will only be an issue if people don't see it as worth their while buying the club (if CC goes into liquidation). i.e losing too much money - no thanks. Losing only a little/breaking even due to great crowds - yeah sure why not.

Its not the football club that has caused the (possible) liquidation

That shows how often i managed to get there this season then. Did notice that Stu Jacobs was down with a bunch of people at Plimmerton Domain on Saturday Morning. Was it team welly? Do they often practice there? zonknz2011-03-07 11:15:55

He's got quite a few academies and things going on, could have been one of them.

Also a limited number of pitches that aren't cricket so could have been.

Yup, his school holiday stuff is pretty good value. Zonknz Jr went to the Vic Uni based one last hols, and i can confirm that James Musa helped make the kids cheese toasties.

I don't doubt that, but a club that had broken even this season would have enticed Terry to sell it for a bit of a profit and not drag the club through this mess.

Now the club will be sold for a bargain basement price and the image of the club is being dragged down with it in New Zealand (barely a blip in Australia though).

Since I don't really care what happens to Terry personally, I don't mind if the Nix get sold for $200 and a crate of Heineken, as long as the purchaser maintains or improves current management practices.

Life is not that simple. People know that Terry has been up sh*t creek for some time, better to wait for the club to fold, then come in as a white knight* at a bargain price :(

*Assuming/hoping anyone is interested.

Is the Terry origins of the Nux an issue for potential investors?

Hmm. I don't think anyone can pretend that there are such things as 'investors' in the A League. White Knights, Sugar Daddies, yes, but A-League club ownership as an investment?
