It's a common male fantasy and it's easy to get a reaction from men with those tropes.

Fixed.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Getting back to Tui billboards, where are the NBR offices, and can we mail them a thousand fliers with a "Matt Nippert isn't pursuing a personal vendetta / YEAH RIGHT" design?

Only if they're accompanied by a thousand more with a "Doloras isn't pursuing a personal vendetta / YEAH RIGHT" design.

I believe Doloras has been quite open about pursuing a personal vendetta.

Seriously, all joking aside, I only know Nipples through his writing. He might know me, but he could only identify me through my writing style, and only then if he remembers some of the wilder trolling letters I used to send to Salient. And I was an admirer of his journalistic work with The Listener. But I defy anyone to read his tweets over the last year and suggest that he doesn't have a "let's get Terry" agenda.

On the other hand, the meme that I had a brief, passionate, drunken, handcuffed fling with him ten years ago is an excellent one and should be kept alive.

When was he with Sailent? Was he the editor?

He was with Salient about ten years ago; and I'm pretty sure he wasn't the editor but one of the primary reporters.

Was it his leather jacket and his rock and roll lifestyle that drew you in?

Is that you in the background trying hard to resist throwing yourself on him?

Sailent had reporters? I remember it as letters to the editor and about 30 pages of scribble paper.

Oh, dear Matt, the days of being an angry young anti-establishment journo, before he joined the service of Big Corporate Money.

No, I've never been blonde, although I might have seen her in a bondage dungeon once.

Yeah, thinking back on it, Matt would have been unlikely to go to the same parties I did. He was always far cooler than me. I hung out with the geeks.

Salient is about as anti-establishment as... well, the NBR, actually.

To be fair, Matt worked for the Listener, which used to be a very "left-of-centre-left" magazine.

This is the same Listener that condemned striking doctors for acting like, "grown-up Oliver Twists".  Were Limbkins and Bumble left-wing?

Its existence as the "house journal of the Alliance party"?  Pre-dates Nippert's involvement - but in any case, the Alliance was hardly a left-wing party.

What do you consider a left wing party? Is there an NZ communist party?

We're getting off-topic.  Just to be clear, though: the Alliance (like the various Stalinists and Maoists still doing the rounds in New Zealand) mainly functioned to boost the Labour party - in other words, they were about as left wing as Helen Clark.

(Cue people claiming that Clark, who supported imperialist adventures in the Middle East, is left wing.  Of course she is. )

Looking at an Australian involved, allegedly, "after paying the 'due diligence fee', and being approved by the Investment Board, ...on receiving the sanction letter, the client is required to transfer 0.558% of the loan amount, ...a minimum of 15 days prior to the date of remittance of the loan."   So where is this at, due diligence, Investment Board, or sanction letter.  What I find hard to understand, having done a stint with a merchant bank, is that, you generally say no up front, or if there is potential, you say this will cost you $1 million and even if we fail to get funds, you still have to pay for our 'best effort', but usually at the very very end.
