With another set of transfer rumours to England about Ben Waine, are we going to lose one of our rising talents before we've really used him?
Can he have one season leading the line before we let him go?
His Australia cup performances has shown he's good enough.
But we've brought in another import striker (Oskar) who might be playing ahead of him ...

if he is good enough then he'll have done enough to impress Talay to have him start ahead of the new striker.
For mine this has to be the season he proves that, he's been good as a back up front man but hasn't been as prolific as I'd want him to be as my starter.

Pretty sure Uffie said last week that its up to the other strikers to take his place in the starting eleven. He also named Ball a few weeks ago as one of the players battling for the two wide ten positions, along with Kraev, Sasse and Old. That would suggest that it's Kosta, Zawada and Waine competing for the two forward positions up top, and you'd have to say Waine would be first choice at the moment. Obviously we haven't seen Zawada yet, but I think it will be those two up top by the end of the season. Wouldn't surprise me if Kosta gets the start for the first few rounds though

Yeah, that's what Ufuk said, it's up to the new players to earn the position from the current starters. He didn't mention Waine iirc, but it was in response to a question about Zawada and Waine as well as Sasse and Old.

Ben Waine is no longer a mystery but is prepared to face the burden of being a marked man in the A-League.
