Rufers goal will stick in my mind for years. Awesome

Out of the three in question, Smeltzies. Pieman had an element of 'whoops' about it, Leo's was a rocket but deflected and Smeltz's one was turn the defender, cut inside aim and score. Class.

Yep, I have searched for that goal many a time to try and relive it.  Some times I don't actually believe I saw it.

Felipe v sydney is my all time favourite... didnt judas get goal of the year last year??? but still felipes goal is the most memorable

Have to say Leo's groin goal is my favourite. Not for technique or anything, but just for how awesome that goal was at the time (keeping us in the playoff hunt etc). Love it when you watch the replays as well how the commentators try to explain what he got it in with... the "hip" region etc.

Best goal I have seen in person for Phoenix was probably Smeltz v Melbourne, 2-1. Amazing goal and a cracking game to boot.
 
Bertos' in a close 2nd from the weekend, was amazing when that hit the net!

best winning goal...at the time I had to class the Bertos goal the greatest because it means a win from the first game at home, because of who struck it, and because of the time in the game and the distance out.
 
I loved Costa's goal- but it wasn't a winner. I also thought Smeltz was an amazing goal.
 
But our first home win in our first game with two class goals...35 metres from a dead ball situation. Especially as it would have been 4 on 2 if he had got away from Pellegrino.

Talking of Wynton's goals, sorry Frankie Mac, but his best in an All Whites shirt was the one he scored against China in Singapore on the road to Spain in 1982. Anyone got a vid of that one?

Could well be, I'd check youtube but can't access it at current locale... I know he got around a couple who were on him and also past a few in the box, ours and theirs.

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

daniel took a ball off his chest beat one player was fouled by the 2nd. played a quick ball to felipe from the free kick. felipe beat one man the got inside another with a couple of step overs and burried it bottom left whilst off balance outside the box

Have to say Smeltzy's against Melbourne lost me voive. Made me cheer the loudest. We were needing a win against a very strong Melbourne team and then to score such a spectacular effort to win the game for us was pretty awesome aye.
 
Elrichs a stunner no doubt though but we didnt win the game that day

So thought would bring this thread back up, here is the Nix top five goals as voted by the fans over last few weeks

Jeremy Brockie v Brisbane Roar 2012/13

Louis Fenton v Sydney FC 2011/12 (Spoiling the ADP party)

Paul Ifill v Central Coast 2010/11

Tim Brown v Sydney FC 2011/12 (the up and under)

Roy Krishna v Brisbane Roar 2017/18 (One of the few highlights of last season)

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
