Have had to think pretty carefully about posting this, but I figure you're all big kids so why not keep you in the loop.

Rory Fallon has demanded, through his agent Neil Sang, that we remove the Big Bad t shirt from sale or do a deal to pay Rory some money for them.

We're in discussions. We don't believe we've done anything wrong but of course we're conscious of not wanting to upset one of the All Whites' big boys.

If we can resolve things Big Bad will go back on sale, if not it will be a very limited edition collector's item!

(By the way: see the sh1t we have to deal with!!!)

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

And his agents a twat!

But seriously... am sure common sense can (and will) prevail.

Tell Rory that Yellowfever's a non-profit thing and if that doesn't sway him then start on the personal attacks.

I think he is saying pretend the shirts are aimed at another person called Rory Fallon and not the one that plays for NZ.

I would advise CboZ against a career as a lawyer.

Perhaps more suited to the Police

A bit tricky to pretend it's not about him when it has his picture on it.

An accountant suits me better. I didn't realize his picture was on it, damn.

Feverish has suggested a replacement t shirt if the original is retired:

He's Big
He's Bad
His Agent Packed a Sad
Rory Fallon
Rory Fallon

Should HAVE, could HAVE...

I guess the only issue is the picture, surely he can't claim 'copyright' on a chant?

Can't wait till somebody in the panorama pic from the AWs game decides you can't sell it cos their face is on it, unless they get a percentage!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'm with him, the thing which annoys me about the whole debacle  is the fact that the site is non profit and without Yellow Fever that match probably wouldn't have sold out/ Been such a success.

His agent probably just advised against setting a precedent.  While I'm not an expert, it seems likely that ignoring this use of his likeness would tend to weaken potential suits against bigger infringements.

While I can (kind) of understand where he is coming from (his likeness, he should benefit) you'd hope that the context might make him change his mind.

Suing your own fans is never much of a good idea...

yeah not a good look if your trying to gain support for yourself and team, woukld be a really bad look if the all whites fans turn up en masse and were silent if he scores.

If/when he scores in the World Cup I'll probably still cheer but it will be for the person with the assist.

Its no longer a problem.
