I remember Bills debut at Matseille. I was living nearby at the time. Didnt get to that game but I watched him play for Marseille in a preseason game against Ajax Amsterdam in Beziers. Started as a DM. Played a very good game.
It was Bielsa who first suggested Bill would be a good defender in a back three.
It was a crazy year at Marseille. Bielsa had them flying and they were top of the league half way through the season playing exciting football. Then everyone got exhausted playing high tempo football and they finished 3rd????
Also in that team was Mendy who later went to Man City and jail and the striker Gignac who went on to score nearly 200 goals for Tigres in Mexico.
In the middle of all this was a young kiwi boy. It must have been amazing times for Bill.
So excited hes going to play for the Nix

Must have signing on FIFA during this time as well. Always good to have a promising kiwi on the bench of my Manchester United save. 😂
