Heading down Lambton Quay at lunch time (1230ish) tomorrow to do the second installment of this. I figure Red Ged will be there too. Anyone else is welcome to meet us outside Ryos.

The games at Hutt Rec are when Wellingtonians will start asking their mates, who are Phoenix Season-ticket holders, for tickets to games. Tickets for which, they  are prepared to pay.The club should apply a loyalty scheme for non-season ticket holders who attend home games at the RoF i.e priority for purchase of tickets to games at Hutt Rec, based on purchase of tickets to home games at RoF. Create some demand and hopefully the "Event attenders", might learn something about access to tickets for the 'big'/'special' games is about team loyalty .

[Might be wrong thread, not criticising giving free tickets to games to encourage attendance, but we all have 'mates' who are only interested in the big games, Phoenix or All-Whites, with our season ticket holder access to tickets, with discount of course]

Tickets? Tickets? We talkin’ about tickets?

That is a great idea.

Maybe a way they could implement it is (conceptually) that if you buy a ticket to a game you get $3 off your next one when purchasing a ticket for the NEXT home game. If you can show two previous games tickets you get $4 off the third consecutive home game. And an extra dollar off each time you keep attending up to a maximum (perhaps) of $10 off... but you keep getting the $10 off each time for the rest of the season as long as you keep buying consecutive match tickets.

To implement this they could issue you with a loyalty token ID which could be input in the voucher/promo field when purchasing online or quoted when buying in person or over the phone (along with any verification of identity etc.)

Sort of on the same lines as Brandon I have 3 spare Season tickets, I have given 1 to a regular that drives us down from Palmy so I am not adding to the stats and crowds there but I try give the other two away to someone who wouldnt normally come, Last game I brought someone who is now coming down with us tomorrow and bringing his two kids!

That first season i paid to attend every game as i wasn't sure if I could get the time off to see every game. As it turned out i made them all. One of my biggest regrets, not getting the foundation ticket. Still this Fridays game is number 95 ALeague game in NZ and that is something i am proud of.

Sorry if this appears ignorant, but 'foundation' ticket holders being those who purchased a season ticket in 07/08 AND ever since?

just read this thread and can only applaud the efforts of a few to brig one extra person to the games. As for Frankie's call to make gameday more fun - the only people this benefits are those who are already at the game. At least what brandon is doing is getting one person more through the gates who wasnt going already.

Once we get the people through the gates then we need to make it fun so they want to come back and pay for a ticket!

It went well. Really well. Ross (EXALDEAR) came down and lent visibility and support, which was excellent. Having more people there in Phoenix gear really helps.

Greg (Redged) increased his hit rate - the first person he stopped - a guy called Graham - was thrilled to be given the chance to come and see the Nix. Big smiles.

I mustn't be as charismatic as Greg, but about the 8th or 9th person I stopped - a woman called Emma, was blown away by it and said she caouldn't wait to go. 3 of the people I had stopped previously had been to the Nix before, liked what we were doing, but couldn't go because they were going away for the weekend and would not be here for the game.

Brandon and so many others have pointed out it's all about small steps and getting new fans, even if it's one fan at a time.

The way we are doing it is all a bit public.. but we choose to do it that way to be accountable to you all and do what we say we are going to do, but YOU don't have to do it like us.

It could be a quiet word with family or friends or work colleagues etc. where you ask them to join you. Maybe they will get the buzz like you do,who knows?

You may choose to give them a ticket or if you have a season pass and produce it at the ticketek window you can save them with a big discount on their own ticket.

Every bit counts.

AND... If you are in the vicinity of Aisle 21 Row W seat 76  (back of the Fever Zone) say hello to Graham and please make him feel welcome.

Good stuff. Got a spare ticket as my partner is up in Auckland so someone from my own team is joining me tonight. He goes occasionally but not to every game (did go to the last home game). Hopefully be able to encourage him to go more though he did mention having to "clear it with the girlfriend first" when I offered the ticket.

Two more lucky Welingtonians gifted tickets today.

MUCH MUCH harder to give them away this week as so many people we talked to were already going. One bloke, Raju, who lives in Upper Hutt and plays masters football for Wainui has never been to a Phoenix game. He refused the free ticket because he and his club mates were going together en masse, so he was already going, and he wanted to buy his own ticket to it and let us find someone who wasn't going to give it to.

Also spread the word about the TWvAC game at Dave Farrington Park to 4 blokes who had driven down from Auckland to come to the Phoenix. They do that once a year every year, and this was the game they had picked this season. Told them about the YF beer tent, bbq and Uber offer and they said they would be there with bells one. One was a Waitakere fan and said he'd be cheering TWs on!

Edit: And for the first time ever I managed to give my ticket away before Greg did.

Should ask the club for a handful of free tickets to give out in this manner...seems like a decent idea.

Greg and I went to do this yesterday... only Greg didn't have a ticket yet, and Ticketek were not open... so we (Greg, Carol and I) went to One Red Dog for pizza and beer instead.

Today we tried again, and Greg got a ticket from the Ticketek office near the Civic Square, and we met up outside Ryos at 1pm... found a couple who had just got back from the UK yesterday. He was from Wellington originally and he had brought Megan back to NZ to show her around on holiday. So they are coming to the game tomorrow and they were so thrilled that Megan suggested they go into Ryos and buy a Yellow Fever scarf.
