Is it true that Daniel Lins Cortes has a full Brazilian Cap? I understand he came on as a sub in a game, any idea what year and who they played.
One minute Brockie is scoring 4 goals in a season, next season he
has v little playing time? Does the next biggest thing out of
NZ need field time before coming back to the A-League?

I'm struggling to find any record of it on this page of Brazil
stats:
He's been active since 1999, but the only player named
"Daniel" (apart from Daniel Calvalho and Daniel Alves) to play for
the national team since then got a sub cap on 6/2/2002 against
Saudi Arabia. However, he was attached to
S�o Caetano, which isn't
listed as one of our Daniel's clubs. Could wikipedia be
wrong?

Fred was a good player for Melbourne..But watching the clips of
Daniel...He is without doubt better quality than Fred, You better
hope he doesn't run circles around Melbournes Defense in Round
1.
Didn't see this one before... Look, Fred was good last
year - but he's never played at the level Daniel has been playing
at. If he plays at his Botofago level, he'll run rings around
most of the A-League defences - providing Phoenix give him someone
to cross to, they'll do alright, and in true Brazilian style, if
he's got no one to cross to he'll just smack it into the back of
the net!

He's got some raw talent, but it needs the right environment to bring it out and make him the player he could be.

we dont have that much talent i think they might pick him up.

Correct... But the standard of football in Brazil is so
high, you really have to be a spectacularly good player to get into
the full international set-up. Daniel is a division one
player, a cut above most, but not in that elite group of
players.
Think about it - Edu played a couple of years for Arsenal
before he got a sniff at the Brazilian squad, and that guy is
tip-top class - and he still didn't make the 23 for Germany
06. That's the kind of competition Daniel is up against in
Brazil.
So, don't worry about the caps - just wait for the lad to show
his stuff.

Back on title - Daniel is a better player than Fred, so
concentrate on how good Danny Boy is rather than laughing over
Fred's departure.
Plus - don't laugh too much at Melbourne's misfortune over
Fred... There are other good quality Brazilian 1st division
players waiting to replace him. Just as soon as Victory
figure out how much they can afford to spend.
