Problem with Daniel though Steve-o is that he can't tackle, and sometimes it puts us under pressure. He could just stick a foot in every so often. Just looks so lame sometimes.

For the midfielder... i reckon we should get Song Jin-Hyung... that man has class

Its all been said.

Coulda won, coulda lost, draw fair.

No absolute standouts but no donkeys either.  Give everyone 6-7.

Main thing is we're looking like a team again and have found some fluency.  Unrecognisable from the rabble against Adelaide.

Monday evening is actually a great time for away games.

Get Nick Carle back from Bristol or wherever he is now. Has his weaknesses, but like Archie Thompson, can turn a game with one piece of skill, and is a very influential playmaker. We could use that.

The problem without Daniel though is that there is next to NO creativity!

I agree he appears lazy at times, but most of these types of players are like that. Frustrating a lot of the time, but can be a matchwinner!

I really enjoyed watching that game. The players gave it some, the game ebbed and flowed and we ended up taking a point away, which was a fair reflection of the match imo.

Was good to hear one of the commentators mention that they had a chat with some Phoenix officials who reiterated their desire to get a youth team into the National Youth League.  And both commentators supported the idea as well.

One of the commentators also said Terry S was willing to put his hand in his pocket to make it happen. Great.

But it has to happen by next season!

With two more teams in the market for players next year, it's going to put us even further behind the pack if we can't field our own own youth squad as a development and feeder team for the top side.

That's why I think this season he is best coming off the bench for the last 20 mins, but not a starter. He just throws in the unpredictable that can help us sometimes.

I think that sums it up nicely. Disagree with earlier comments regards Cov diving. Enjoyed seeing Gao on the pitch for the full 90, thought Kwasnik was quiet but effective and thought Siggy was sound on defence, doesn't give us the same on the right as Lochy gives us on the left. And i think Lochy is coming back to somewhere near his best. Think Covs provides a good foil for Smeltzy and adds some good balance to the side although in saying that I wouldn't be completely anti the idea of seeing Drapes have a run alongside Smeltzy. Or maybe even give Daniel a run up front if only for the fact that i would really like to see Lei Lei and Daniel on the pitch for a long period of time together

Last weekend he was at a wedding that was planned before he even signed for the Phoenix.

This week he was simply left out of the squad.

Lei Lei probably better out wide. You just need him to run at defenders as much as possible from out wide I think.

Tend to think 20 minutes isn't enough at times, give him the whole second half IMO.

Tim Brown would NEVER work up front.

I'm in agreememnt with Bopman on this... Covs hasn't looked too bad the past couple of weeks, and he does have the ability to win penalties rather than scoring goals. I would like to see Drapes get a run, but he's have to come off the bench rather than start, and I can't think who I'd drop for him. In his past three games (including his All whites goal) I think Plodder has proved his worth to the team too.

Good night at the Four Kings. Good atmosphere as always! Best thing is being surrounded by so many football "experts". Why more of us aren't working in the top echelons of the game is beyond me.
Matt Thompson's challenge on Leilei was "interesting".

Straight from work to watch football... what could be better?

Tonight's verdict is: I love football.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I agree with Bopman about getting Daniel on earlier...perhaps even up front as a striker. Daniel can shoot and score and he heads the ball well, plus he has good close control. Could be worth a look up front beside Smeltz. Lockhead, Daniel and Gao are most likely to combine to create something. Imagine the carnage that Smeltz would cause if he got better service!

At the moment the attack looks too static....the build up is often slow and there is no creativity to unlock defenses. How many goals have we scored from open play this year? Bugger all.

Still they played with a lot of heart and commitment against the Jets...which is all we asked of them after the crap start to the season.

Isn't he the guy who got Aloisi sent off last year and is since then despised by all of Yellow Fever? Or am I thinking of a different Roar player?

Although I haven't seen the game, I wonder if the CB combination is not as tight as it should be?

Dodds and Siggy was a good CB combination last week and Durante and McKain was a good CB combination. Was Dodds and Durante combo, an improvement over McKain and Durante combo?

Is Siggy better than Durante at RB? Or should Durnate been at RB and the CB combo should have been Dodds and Siggy?

I'd be tempted to give siggy and dodd 2-3 weeks at CB (a bit of consistency, might hep the communication) and Durante at RB -  probably more pace than siggy

How did Johnson go today? ok - guilty of a few misplaced passes from memory (McKain, might be worth a run there, unless Ricki brings him back at CB)

Lochy had a good game, eh? But it sounds like there was more attack against Siggy than against Lochy. Did he stepped up or was it less pressure on him today? seemed to build on his wake-up effort v sydney - looked keen to get outside daniel when he came on

How did Daniels go as sub? - not a huge impact but he didn't have long and he did seem to encourage lochy to keep working on pushing up

Christie sounds a better RWB but then he was fresh legs against tried ones that thought they were on the win. Did he go OK? - not impressed by how static he seemed when he recieved the ball in the attacking third - he seemed to want to pump it in rather than move outside Leilei or keep the ball moving at his own feet

not sure if i agree about Jags take on Leilei's contribution - hre made the right callto run at their defender in the box  .. done like a dog's dinner (ironic really )

Where are your guys player ratings for the match?
