I haven't heard anything about Aloisi but i remember having a chat to a friend of Costas and he reckoned Costa was going to be loaned out to TW.

If John does come and play for the 7 match spread mentioned in the 442 article, it would tide him all the way along into the January transfer window, where we could potentially then offer a full contract.

Interesting stuff.

From newstalk ZB:

Reports from across the Tasman suggest Socceroos striker John Aloisi could be on his way to join older brother Ross at the Wellington Phoenix.

John Aloisi has been without a club since the start of the season and has been linked with numerous clubs across Europe as well as in the A-League. The latest story is he will join Phoenix skipper Ross in Wellington for the remainder of the A-League season.

When told of the news, Phoenix CEO Tony Pignata was surprised, saying he is not aware of any such deal but acknowledged they would be stupid not to sign Aloisi if they had the chance.

If they did, in fact, manage to sign him, it would be a massive coup for the club following the signing of Ahmad Elrich last month.

They did deny the Elrich signing initially too....Notice how he didn't say no

Yeah, that's true. I remember Ricki said they hadn't had any talks with him?

RadioSport will have to change their McGyver thing if he does sign.

it still sounds a bit complicated to me.

But as you guys said before, they hardly ever confirmed that a deal was being made, until everything is in place.
See Elrich...or others before the beginning of the A-League season.
It was said that Smeltz wouldn't come etc..so I guess, and hope, there are a few chances we might re-unite the Aloisi bros..

Last thing I heard about John was that Boro were keen on him...

He'd be a fantastic signing though even if it was only for 7 weeks and would knock in the goals no doubt

Another option would be for an NZFC Club to sign him and immediately loan him to the Phoenix for the season with a current Phoenix player going on loan the other way...

Is the January the next Premiership transfer window?  he might want to get a bit of game time in before Boro sign him.

Hes a free agent right now, he can sign for them outside the transfer window.

but that'd work out well for all parties!

I still say that with the $$ he wanted off the Clogs and the Bling a couple of months ago are any indication it just won't fly.

would be a great signing IF we can make it happen. God bless Terry and that magic cheque book of his!

and i doubt that Ricki would drop one of the kiwi U/20s...i have a feeling Brownlie would be the unlucky one if some one got 'cut'
