Reports from across the Tasman suggest Socceroos striker John Aloisi could be on his way to join older brother Ross at the Wellington Phoenix.
John Aloisi has been without a club since the start of the season and has been linked with numerous clubs across Europe as well as in the A-League. The latest story is he will join Phoenix skipper Ross in Wellington for the remainder of the A-League season.
When told of the news, Phoenix CEO Tony Pignata was surprised, saying he is not aware of any such deal but acknowledged they would be stupid not to sign Aloisi if they had the chance.
If they did, in fact, manage to sign him, it would be a massive coup for the club following the signing of Ahmad Elrich last month.
They did deny the Elrich signing initially too....Notice how he
didn't say no

Yeah, that's true. I remember Ricki said they hadn't had any talks with him?

"they signed the wrong Aloisi..."
it still sounds a bit complicated to me.
It was said that Smeltz wouldn't come etc..so I guess, and hope, there are a few chances we might re-unite the Aloisi bros..

He'd be a fantastic signing though even if it was only for 7 weeks and would knock in the goals no doubt

but that'd work out well for all parties!
and i doubt that Ricki would drop one of the kiwi U/20s...i have a feeling Brownlie would be the unlucky one if some one got 'cut'
