Surely such a stringent application of the
rules ...
To clarify, this section of the FFA regulations state they are
guidelines and not specific rules. Hence, the A-League do not have
to abide by them if they don't want to.
The one thing that might see Griffiths get off completely is
that the offence already earned a yellow in the match itself -
though I can't see how unless the linesman was not watching and did
not realise that it was a fist to his wedding tackle.

So would the linesman have to put in a
report or what?
Hopefully no photographic evidence of bruising!

can someone fill me in as to why griffiths is such a t**ser? I saw
the game and he really rubbed me the wrong way with his throwing
his head back when the keeper axed him.... but i missed the hitting
the officia part, i thought he was class otherwise- tonne of pace,
give him life so we dont have to play him!!l

he got no punishment - see home page news.
I dont actually hate him. He does seem top get chopped a lot. Getting away with punching a lino in the knackers is a good effort!

not sure if we've got any psychiatrists on the board, so exactly
why he behaves like he does might remain a mystery
coulda been dropped on his head when he was little, or maybe his first intimate experience was with someone with a flag and it all went horribly wrong from that moment on
aaahh the mysteries of the deranged human mind

Hard News hates him. And getting away with punching a lino in the
balls is not good.
IIRC, he was the player who got the free kick when they beat us..

I wouldn't mind so much if he actually got chopped, but he
doesn't. He falls to the ground more often than an
Argentinean striker, plus when ever he can he goes through a
challenge and flattens the player or leaves a foot in to try and
injure. Again, this wouldn't annoy me if more refs actually
booked him for doing it, but they don't if it was a Brazilian
pulling the same stunts they'd be covered in Yellow, but because
it's Griffiths and he's a true blue Aussie he gets away with
it.
You really don't want to start me on the Harper infatuation and excusing him for all of this crap, or the hypocrisy of Australians loving him but wanting Grosso hung, drawn and quartered... the AR thing yesterday is typical of behaviour he has a history of, but the refs and the FFA just let him pull crap like that every week.
He's just an objectionable little oik and seeing him kicked in to next week, or suspended for being a f**kwit strikes me as justice served.
Did I mention I dislike him ?
