NOVA PUTS ENERGY INTO THE PHOENIX

Nova Energy, one of New Zealands fastest growing energy companies, is the latest sponsor of the Wellington Phoenix Football Club.

The sponsorship agreement will give Nova Energy exclusive rights to the back of the teams playing shirts, training gear and player travelling bags.

In announcing the two-year deal, which has a two-year right of renewal, Welnix chairman Rob Morrison said he was delighted the company wanted to join forces with the Phoenix.

It shows that the club is moving forward in the way we envisaged, Morrison said.

From the outset our strategy has focussed on developing a sustainable business model.

To achieve that goal we need sponsors along with the great fan support the Phoenix enjoys, access to grass roots football, and the capital and business expertise provided by Welnix.

The fact that Nova Energy is joining the Phoenix family is a positive endorsement of what we are trying to achieve.

Nova Energy chief executive Babu Bahirathan said his company was excited about the partnership.

The Wellington Phoenix has a strong brand and is one of New Zealands great sporting properties, Bahirathan said

Nova Energy is one of New Zealands best kept energy secrets and we want to build our profile and we believe the Phoenix can help us do this.

We very much see this as a partnership. While Nova Energy will sponsor the back of the shirt we are keen to do a lot more than that.

We want to work with the club and Wellington Phoenix members in a very real way which will benefit everyone.

I wish they would stop knocking on my door asking me if I want to change energy companies though.

Great news....this is exactly why having the Welnix guys on board is good for the club. They have so many business contacts and generate so much good will that securing sponsorship is easier than under the previous setup.

if you have gas heating as well as cooking they are worth a look, at our old place we used them and found our bill dropped dramatically.
