And from the Tianjin website (thanks Google translate) ..
Tomorrow (18 days) Tianjin Master Kong will be the second home game against the Phoenix team warm-up opponent, said he left the tree is still young and foreign aid will be based: "Tomorrow or the game as far as possible, training young people about the purpose of competition or the training of young players and experimental training study of foreign aid it. "

Looks like they'll be trying out a few younger players, butterfly.

And form another part of website ...

"on the 18th of this month, Tianjin Teda Phoenix will usher in Wellington, New Zealand team, will bring us will give you more detailed report, so stay tuned."

According to the news pages in China the phoenix arrive 4 hours late at 5am yesterday and the first training was at 4pm local time yesterday.

The game with Tianjin is at 5pm local time (9pm NZ time) today and apparently it is the curtain raiser for the friendly between China & Palestine.

Still can't find any live broadcast info however the second game will be live on TV everywhere in CHN.

Do you happen to know which TV channel? CCTV5?

What that comment meant was that the China v Palestine game would be live in all of China.

Quick google search on the Chinese sites shows nothing for Guangzhou either.

Junior82, Terry and SC03- you three understand the way things are run in China (and read written Chinese too perhaps?)
The Dom Post article here talks about a match promoter paying for the Nix to come over and play Tianjin and Guangzhou and "recouping the costs via match fees and Tv rights."

I just wondered.. would there be any clues if you searched the stadium websites (if any) for promoters events coming up then used the promoters links (if any) from those events to see if there's any mention of broadcast details or live-streaming sites for the Phoenix Games?
alternatively perhaps the promoter would sell rights to local betting websites live coverage service??
It was mentioned earlier that Saturday's game Tianjin time 5pm may just be a curtain raiser for  the National Team v Palestine game but, just a thought...??
??

1. I still remember on 2003 how crazy we were when Real Madrid came to China and all the fans and tv broadcast got crazy as well. Just because they are Rolando, Zidane, Figo.....Terry..
PPL know nothing about NZ football then, and Phoenix. Dont expect the useless CCTV5 gonna promote anything for Phoenix cz they cant find any profit from NIX. We called CCTV5 as CCAV(Adult Vedio) in Mainland at moment.

2.  The club called "professional club" in China but actually it is not at all. PPl manage the club was always coming from the BUSINESS MAN, maybe from EE(electrical engineeing) or Agriculture. The reason they in charge of the club just bcz they put $$$$$$$$$ inside. They PLAY THE CLUB instead of player play football in the club. This situation keep going from 1994 when we first time set up the professional league. Nothing changed within this 15 yrs. That can easily explain why China grew up SOOOOOOOOO quick cz most of ppl focus on $$$$$$.

3. Dont expect any live broadcast about any game now cz Guangzhou and Tianjin anymore. Also, the main player from this 2 clubs were going to National Team and played against Palestine.

4. If some of the soccer guy can focus on football as they focus on money, China would be the top 20 or even top 10 teams in the world some times, like the situation on Basketball now.

5. ?? means crazy? madness are more looks like ppl in madhouse

Oh, yes - agree withyour #4.

Point in case is Yao Ming - plucked from rural China and thrust into the NBA.  Took him a while to adjust to the physical game over there but by season 2 was indespensible.  TV interviews show him to be a pretty grounded guy (for all of his height) and no big ego to stoke.

Can't ever see the Chinese national team football players doing something similar.  BTW whater happened to the guy who was trying out for Man U last season (Dong Fangzuo??)

1. Our Old Chinese Said "Age is not a Distance" AAAAAAt AAAAAAAAll

2. Dong Fangzhuo was and is a crab just because he is fast and strong. U know there is someone called "Usain Bolt"  Thats y Xavi and Ineista can be the top of the world now. I mean, Skills, key role in Football

3. My Name is YaoMing as well Truth

4. I d rather say Football System (Chinese Football Ass.) PPL manage their countries football (all level) must know about football, this s a big system. National team, club, league, youth training system. But Much important as citizen's football. Germany got a football System something called "residenter football plan". Set up by Franz Beckenbauer. The result is 20 of the 22 formal Germany National team player is coming from this plan in 2006 world cup. The boss, i mean, leader for a country football MUST look after the normal people playing football. Football must base on pyramid shape to keep running. Or that ll be a ropewalker, hopeless.

Tomorrow. I don't know the details but presume it would be played at 7pm local time if it is not a curtain raiser this time, which would be 11pm NZT. This is just my guess.

Been stuck in Beijing since before the Olympics and living in China this time since 2004.

We have Hull City coming here next week so I'll wince a bit while watching the game (or get a bit pissed first) and then imagine they are the Phoenix.

Shame he didn't make more of an impression.  Still from the wiki site he is quite young so could be another random contender for "The 'Nix Top Model Striker".

the black stripes might appear to widen in relation to quantity of beer consumed, therefore my tactic might still work. Apologies in advance if a strange match summary somehow appears here after the Hull City game in Beijing.
