All i wanted was the chance to reply to those that took the time to post.

No i am not Loungeman or whatever the name was.

Secondly lets all laugh at the Hibees poster and the Millwall poster. You advise that we are all Phoenix, so why do you spout your other club's following by having an avatar that represents Hibs and Millwall, have you not heard of double standards.

What i was trying to get across, we have some die hard fans that are die hard Nix but also die hard followewrs of clubs elsewhere. The Parade was a fun point of showing how diverse the Nix are in the people that follow them.

Lastly as to the closing of the thread, Uberarse, oh to have the power to close a thread, because in your opinion it is meaningless, if only you could have the same control to half of the other garbage and drivel that remains in an open status on this forum. A forum is meant to be just that, an area where people can discuss, not just till some jumped up officionado feels it is of no importance.

Is it any wonder then why my posts are as low as they are, whats the point in voicing an opinion if you never get the chance to reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having an avatar of a team, is a wee bit different from suggesting we all parade around the park in that teams shirt. Which, frankly, I think, is a sh*t idea.

i thought you meant people in their local club teams colours for a while, which sounds alright, though the Bubbles would have beer bottles rain down on them. EPL teams etc - why?

Lets have a parade of our favourite foods, showing that we can support the Phoenix but still like foods.

I would carry a big flag with a pork chop on it.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

If you want to support your 'English' club, go to England and support your English club.  If you want to support the Phoenix wear Phoenix gear.

Would anyone turn up to watch West Brom wearing a Chelsea shirt ?

Feverish's idea of your local club is an excellent idea, and I believe done before at least one match last season, but to parade around the ground at a Phoenix game in another clubs shirt ?  I'm just gobsmacked that anyone could think it's a good idea.

Yeah it is an open forum but surely you look for honest appraisal of any ideas as well, freedom of speech goes both ways.

I would rather tuck into a steaming hot plate of my own faeces before partaking in such a "parade".

But the nix aren't diverse in terms of 'clubbiness' (new word for the day, just invented). In fact they're the complete opposite in that they directly compete against other clubs. Just like others have stated above, I'd rather expose myself to the 'inside out mist' than watch, participate in, or even know about this parade.

Yes i closed the thread, but  for 1 reason only. Your idea was getting soundly derided and the response would have eventually led to personal abuse of yourself. As a moderator we try and keep some things sensible and leave the bizarre crap to the other forums (you parade idea definitely comes under that category)

If you had posted this idea in "off topic", or in the general football thread it might have been left alone but by posting it in the main phoenix discussion forum just paints a big fat old "close me" bullseye on it.

Your last point about the nature of forums seems to imply you understand how they work. I hope you noticed that the two threads you started weren't being discussed at all, people were just taking the piss and so were pointless from that point on.

I dont close many threads, but you will notice three mods simultaneously tried to close you portsmouth fan thread at the same time.

I see that the John West reply has been closed so i will use this open article to reply to both topics.

In relation to the Parade of clubs, i do see in what has been posted say in relation to WBA tops at a chelsea game. That point is correct. What i am trying to get across, many of us are fans/supporters of International Clubs. We have and always will be fans of these clubs, as this is who we followed before Kingz or Nix came along. Are we saying now that we no longer support these clubs, we only support the Nixs, i think not. You can see this with the amount of avatars that relate to all these other clubs.

Lets be honest, what is your favourite club. Yes i follow the Nix but Peterhead is still my No1 club and always will be, at least i have got the balls to admit it. Others out their i know are in the same boat, the idea of the parade was to show that sort of support that the Nix are getting , but hey if this is not of the opinion of the majority, then that's fine.

To the post of Wlso in this thread, that is going to be a great fund raising idea you have now voluntered for. I will start the ball rolling and i sponsor you $5 to see you eat your own faeces. Can you advise what game you will do this at?

=====================================================

Now for the reply to John West idea.

He is probably the most well known supporter out their of a club, a bit like the old bloke with his union jack waistcoat and red coat that used to be sideline at England games.

The idea was a gimmick, to get this bloke out, all about a little bit of marketing, you never know what the media coverage could be?

To Giner Eejit, i would never have known wel kent supporters, the fact that Fergie the mouth supports Hamilton Accies, and not Arbroath, so perhaps you should neck up you parrot, or as you had said to me F*ck You twunt.

Tegal and others, i am not against the support as such that YF give the Nix, i just think that some people that are YF get a bit carries away with their dilisions of grandeur, thinking they are a better supporter than the old bloke that turns up with his tartan rug and lollies to watch the game. Let me advie you, you are no better than this fan, in fact YF only make up 1/5th of the crowd at the game, so the normnal fans are in the majority.

Lemon thanks for your kind words, and the point of allowing a person to express their opinion, then you reply with GTFO, how democratic of you, is this your last year of Kindy, you must be looking forward to going tho the big school.

UbberGunner, i know the role of a moderator is not an easy one, but perhaps rather than closing threads because of insults being passed left, right and centre. You should be advising those people that are passing the insults, that this is not what the forum is here to do, and have them moderated.

Thank you for allowing the ability to get my last reply to these threads to be posted, and agree that you have every right to advise myself that personel insults should not be passed in these forums.

The Phoenix. Not all of us support other clubs. Unless you count Miramar, whom I play for (and that's about it).

At Phoenix games, I see people wearing shirts for other teams, and I find it kinda weird. Then again, most people were in Retro Rickis or Phoenix tops, which is great.

Showing what other clubs we (as YF) support would be just a whos who of English football. Most people would have different ones, and it there would just be far too many to have them all displayed. And a small sample is just being elitist.

Also, who cares what other clubs people support? At the Ring of Fire, it's all the Phoenix, not anyone else.

Last year, at the one of the games (I think it was the first one) they did have a parade of clubs. It was all the Junior clubs from the Wellington region, each with a team, and then some of them got to do half-time stuff. That's a far better way of showing the "diversity" of supporters.

Have to take issue with this line,if you talk to many of those attending the games. One of the reasons they are there is because of the atmosphere created by the YF zone,to just dismiss us as 1/5th of the crowd is very wrong.

As for John West never heard of him sorry.Im a kiwi and unfortunately have yet to enjoy a game of football in the UK,but just why we would want him out here i fail to see,for me half the fun of the whole Phoenix experience is that its new to Wellington and we get to put our own spin on it and how we support it.

That point is a difficult one, as some people on here think we have to do things the same as they do in britain or your just not into your football, i have come across alot of thread lately where people are derided for suggesting we do this, that or the other, that might be new (although it never is someone has done it first)
I hate to rehash Lonegunmans idea about inflatable fingers, but the amount of flack he got over just suggesting the idea was ridiculous. I didnt mention it at the time, but this idea had already been suggested and seriously considered by the YF "Directors", after Team Wellington did it for one of its games. It seemed a great idea to them, but they werent to quick to jump to LG's defense when everyone started taking the piss.
Someone has to draw the line somewhere between having a laugh at someones expense, and intimidating them from posting on these forums at all.

Well golly there's been some anger thrown around the forum on these threads lately.

A few things.

1. I didn't see the original thread before it was closed but the other mods tell me it was all insults and no discussion.  Don't think 'cos we closed it we were for or against the idea.  Generally we'll close any thread that's just piffle, unless it's in Off Topic, regardless of what the original topic was.

2. I originally thought your idea about a Parade of Clubs was to do with Wellington clubs.  Which is something the Phoenix did with kids from each club last year.  I personally see no merit in having a parade of supporters of foreign clubs.  What would the message be?  "Oh Phoenix we love you (except that we love someone else more and only come here cos it's the only game in town)".  That's not really what we're about at the Fever which is probably why the idea got roundly labasted.  We're a Phoenix supporters club.  People come here to our website, and the Zone, to support the Phoenix.  That doesn't mean we don't have other interests and allegiances but when the Phoenix are playing we put them to the back of our minds and support the Nix.  Having a Parade like the one you've suggested would take away from that which is why I don't think anyone else is into it.

3. John West.  As you'll see nobody here has really heard of him.  I think that sums it up.  Nobody would care.  Not the press.  Not the Fever members.  Not the rest of the crowd.  So it would actaully be quite poor publicity and a massive waste of the few Fever pennies we have.  We'd rather do stuff for Kiwis like the Fever Youth Scholarship and the exciting new shirts we're putting out soon.  Besides, we have our own randoms like Feverish, Umbrella Man, Ginger Eejit and Boozy Thommo.

In any case everyone just needs to chill the f**k out a bit.  Bonzo is allowed to have his ideas.  And Bonzo everyone is allowed to shoot you down if they don't like them.  Just keep it friendly.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I agree with Uber in his last post as well.  Lonegunman copped a sl*gging a bit unfairly.  We need to watch out that we don't make this a place where only the select few are allowed to have new ideas.

Bonzo - I've never heard of John West (other than his canned tuna). I'm not sure how many people here have. So IMO i don't think he'd attract the media attention here that perhaps you think he  might.
Secondly - can you imagine the derision from other supporters in the A-League, 'There's the Phoenix with their renta-fans!'

I'd like for you to explain why you think some people at the ga,es think they are better than other fans. I don't think anyone here has expressed any opinion that indicates they think they are better than say old boys with their grandkids in the family zones or such.

Far as I've always been concerned, if you put an idea or a thought out there be prepared to have it shot to bits. Right or wrong, that's how it works.

You may have an issue with Mods shutting the thread down but I, for one, certainly do not have any problem with you putting the suggestions out there.

Forums like this, IMO, are about taking the credit when people agree with your point of view, but sucking it in when people don't.

p.s As you're a Peterhead fan,  as far as I'm concerned you're just bitter because of what Thistle did to you in the play-offs!

A better fundraising idea might be to get everyone to donate a dollar before they shoot down your ridiculous ideas on this forum, by my estimates if we had adopted this policy already we'd have enough in the kitty to buy a Porsche (or other performance car) for each of the YF exec. Not to mention enough left over to donate to the club to bring over C. Ronaldo as a marquee signing....maybe Pato as the Junior Marquee as well.
