lets do it then, what does the club have to lose?

Jacob Burns / News combo would be popcorn worthy
First episode, Helicopter flight over Welly and Burns "mysteriously" falls from the Helicopter.
Another dream pairing would be 2ndBest and Huddo.
Both been to Lima, both like football.
2ndBest’s taste in shoes unknown.
Niggly
Given that Ernie's main reason for resigning was that he couldn't be successful with the Nix given the travel, reffing, and general FFA-ing, maybe he'd like another go now that Rudan has shown it's possible.
let the fans do it!!!
we can vote every week for the starting lineup
bets reality TV ever!
Been done before. https://sports.vice.com/en_au/article/wnmje4/introducing-united-london-fc-the-team-that-allows-fans-to-vote-on-the-starting-lineup
Or the odd grand final with MV

He left because he'd lost the dressing room.

Pretty sure its in the same place it has always been. Did he go down the wrong tunnel?

Well what is excuse for sucking this season?

Not enough ex-Nix players in his squad. We all know that is the real recipe for success.
Also Ricki Herbert. How weirdly sweet if Ricki completed the cycle for the nix and then went to the next NZ incarnation (ala Kinghts).
Hilarious, fitting, and not entirely inconceivable.
If we went on the full cycle of reincarnation, it would be Wynton from the birth of the Kingz.

Ricki was kind of after the job before Darije was hired. I remember Devlin pimping him for the job in an interview and Ricki agreed.

With Ricki's success record on the racing track, since he finished football coaching, we could be the dark horse of the new A league.
No Kiwi based coaches have right quals. So can rule them all out.
Though I do remember one possible avenue raised last post season, was Schmid (who has a Pro Licence?) being appointed as a sort of HOF, and Buckingham/Greenacre effectively under him as the hands on Nix coaches.
To have Schmid do any actual coaching would of course be stupid. For NZF to actually help the Nix even more ridiculous.
Bucky does.

Was thinking along similar lines today - if next season is to be our last, let's go even fuller circle and get Wynton & Shane Rufer in there..

And Keven Fallon?
Give the gig to Bozza. Rudan has done ok and he was against the Nix, so let's try his stable mate with Harper to assist with Greenie.

Greenie is a true gentleman with perfect manners but in that scenario we would probably see him headbutt someone.

New news on this, apparently Greenacre is working towards his Pro license and was away in Melbourne the other week working on it. https://twitter.com/ByPhillipRollo/status/11179058...
Winning percentages are a bit misleading, average points per game if a better comparison for my money. Anyone got time to run the numbers on that stat?

im for vidmar or greenie
I'd like someone cut from the same cloth as Rudan, an A League veteran with ambition and league know-how. It worked for Victory with Muscat, it's kinda working for Sydney with Corica. And it's worked for us.
Failing that, Kurz would be OK, Joyce would not.

I'm not sure I see Greenacre melting the paint on the walls in the changing rooms like Rudan. He comes across as a quiet reasoned bloke and I'm not sure that translates as a backs against the wall motivator that this squad appears to need.
I don't see the referees ever complaining about a lack of respect from Greenie and I think Rudan has proved that is what our club thrives on.

Buckingham was head coach and Chris was his assistant.
But, these stats don't paint a full picture, they don't take into account for instance the fact that every time Greenacre has been in charge of an A-League team it's been to pick up an underperforming team in disarray after a coach has been fired or left.
When I drove past training this morning, Rudan wasn't seen, Greenie and Gothard were taking the sesh.

Yeah, I know the official titles required by FFA rules (because Greenacre is not Australian and doesn't hold a pro licence)
But this is what the club said:
Des Buckingham and Chris Greenacre have been confirmed as the coaches of the Wellington Phoenix for the remainder of the 2016-17 Hyundai A-League season.
The pair took the reins when Ernie Merrick resigned four weeks ago and have been in charge for four games that have seen the team unbeaten in winning one and drawing three.
On Sunday night the Phoenix fought out a scoreless draw with defending champions Adelaide United and were only denied a win by some outstanding saves from United keeper Eugene Galekovic.
Under the FFA regulations Buckingham, who holds a Pro Licence, will be head coach and Greenacre, a former striker with the club who has an A Licence, will be co-coach.
My highlighting. The point I am making is that you cannot determine the roles and responsibilities outlined by the club.
hes in sydney with his family at the moment

Very common in professional sport. I watched an All Black training run a few years ago in the Graham Henry era. Henry just stood by and observed while the assistants did all the work. Also, while on holiday in the UK circa 2001, I was able to watch an England football training session. We were only allowed to stay for 20 minutes or so. Sven GE who was the manager again was just observing. The whole period was under he control of a very vocal Sammy Lee

His is in Sydney with his Family, he will be back tomorrow, this is not a Joke.
He's just helping pack up for the move to Melbourne.
Who is this Coach Hunt?
Who is this Coach Hunt?
I was wondering that too. My Nana's surname is Hunt, I really hope it's not her taking over.
