but if Terry doesn't
get some help you won't have anything to cancel.
Have never seen Terry say anywhere that there is a danger this may happen. He has and is still maintaining that he is in it for the long haul. This is despite his obvious cash flow problems at present.More than happy for the game in Christchurch to maintain its place in Wellington Phoenix's schedule but dont agree with taking any more away.As for finals think we showed last year that crowd numbers will can be high without the need for more home/away games.
Sure he says that, but as long as he continues to lose a million dollars each year, and have, let's call them, cash flow problems, the prospect of him walking away surely is a possible reality and the extra money the comes from home games away from home will be enticing to him and the team. I don't think that is an unfair assumption. Just because he doesn't say it doesn't mean he won't move on. I know his motives for owning the Phoenix are not financial, but it is unrealistic to think he will be happy to lose massive amounts of money on the team, especially when a game or three out of Wellington could relieve the pressure on funds.
I know I'm not a Wellingtonian but I appreciate where you are coming from. I agree it should not become the New Zealand Phoenix and the Wellington culture behind the team is part of what makes them great. But while crowds are less than impressive in Wellington and in this economic climate, it would be stupid not to see two or three home games on the road next season.
