I really dont see how this OCL is going to work. Unless FIFA pays for eveything. OCEANIA has no sponsorship potential, no TV deals no big stadia and has a small population scattered  over an immense area. It is just not commercially viable without huge subsidies. Sounds like a dud to me

There has been no announcement on a future OCL format that I have seen. It could just again be a low cost condensed 2 week tourney like this year. That's even if the Nix and AFC are invited in.

Fifa already pays for the all the OFC broadcast rights with Fifa+ so not a stretch to say that they will do the same with this new OFC Pro League. Would imagine Fifa could just over pay for the rights to help fund it if they are motivated to make this happen

I really think we should continue to push for Asian Champions League first and foremost. The OFC champions league is a joke and two NZ pro teams joining it won’t change the fact it’s a joke.

My biggest concern, though, is that it blurs the lines even further as to what our status is - an Asian team or Oceanian team. As it stands we are an Asian (that is to say, Australian) team, based in NZ. Competing in the OFC champions league definitely changes that. I can’t help but wonder if that could cause issues for both clubs down the road.

In some ways I think no champions league football at all is preferable to us competing in the Oceanian champions league.
