Who do you want at the nix next season?
Keegan SMITH
Dylan FOX
Tom DOYLE
Liberato CACACE
Daniel MULLEN
Matt RIDENTON
Sarpreet SINGH
James MCGARRY
Nathan BURNS
REPLACE:
Lewis ITALIANO
Tando VELAPHI
Oliver SAIL
Scott GALLOWAY
Ryan LOWRY
Marco ROSSI
Goran PARACKI
Alex RUFER
Michael MCGLINCHEY
Adam PARKHOUSE
Matija LJUJIC
Andrija KALUDJEROVIC
Logan ROGERSON
UNSURE:
Monty PATTERSON - Simply too early to call, seems closer to sharkhouse level than Krishna level but at the same time definitely better than sharkhouse - probably a keep, we need numbers at this point
Roy KRISHNA - Breaks my heart to see how in a matter of weeks he's gone from busting his gut on the field to refusing to play. If its true he wants a 3 year contract then for f u cks sake give the man 3 years. If he goes then he goes, guess its all up to him though really.
Andrew DURANTE - yes he is ancient now and no where near what he once was, but his performances have really picked up and he always plays with so much heart. The biggest point for me though is if he leaves the club will have no identity. He's the last survivor of the "glory" days, a hangover from a time when you could ask a random Wellingtonian who are some Nix players and they could name at least 4 or 5. Hell, some actual Nix FANS can't even name the whole squad now. And its not just clinging on to the past, its because we haven't replaced the Siggys and the Tim Browns or the Paul Ifills. Dura is the Totti to our Roma, the John Terry to our Chelsea (albeit without the racism and shagging of teammates wives). He's our Captain, and if we are going down, then I want him on the ship to the very end
Fenton - based on what?
Ran out of ideas.
Also think he might be a regular under our new coach next season.
McGlinchey sold his house last week so he may well be on his way out.
To be honest, I've never rated him. He hit a bit of a purple patch two or so years ago but now he's back to his worst., so I can't say I'll miss him too much.

Fenton is also here next season as well.
you think he played well for TWs?

How many competative games has he played in the last 3 years? Your dreaming, or on acid!
Interesting that some people are picking to keep McGarry over Rufer... having only seen McGarry for Weenix on TV he has not been a stand out. Still better than Parkhouse.
I would like to see the team develop / select genuine left and right sided midfielders.

Realistically, getting rid of almost the entire squad isn't going to work because player recruitement is a lottery. Where are all the replacements supposed to come from? Seriously? Where are the good enough NZ and Australian players?
Could you name 8 non-Visa players that would be good enough for the squad and would actually come here?
Has any team shown that they can get 5 out of 5 visa players in one year and have them all perform well?
the task is to get a new team performing better than this one, cant be too hard, the bar is set very low
The top 'Nix teams have been built around a key goal scorer- Smeltz, Ifill, Burns and Krishna.
We can't build a team around Kalu alone. Around Kalu and Dario we were doing ok.
At the moment we've got a guy who has played best with ball at feet and in behind the defense working with a striker who is best at getting the ball in the air sometimes early.
Getting rid of the fudgeen coach is top of my list!!!!!

Still think he's a better coach than we might get otherwise.
In Dario and Roy we've lost two players of quality and he hasn't got much out of Rossi this season.
But he was brought in to deal with the opposite problem last year- too much player freedom and underperformance.
This year we say the coach is the boss and the players aren't happy.
I still have some trust in him. But a lot of it is going to depend on getting the player(s) to score goals. We need Burns to either find the turbo boost or to get Roy to sign or someone to replace him.

Don't forget big boi Stein Huysegems.

true, true. And the Brockster.
Top 'Nix teams though?
Be sad to see McG go if true. I'd like to see him at the club. But I'd also like to see us win games.
This is probably somewhere else. It doesn't include assists which would also be useful or goal ratio per team. But this suggests two things:
1) A big part of Darije's job is getting Burnsy back into form or playing a format that suits him. False 9 again with Monty? Why not? Kalu on the bench for the last 30 when we start bombing it in?
2) We need to replace Roy Krishna and/or get a steady stream of goals from at least 2 other players.
Goals | Games | Ratio | |
Ifill | 32 | 106 | 0.302 |
Roy | 29 | 77 | .376 |
Smeltz | 26 | 60 | .433 |
Brown | 23 | 112 | .205 |
Brockie | 23 | 59 | .389 |
Greenie | 19 | 84 | .226 |
Huysegems | 15 | 48 | .312 |
Roly | 14 | 83 | .168 |
Burns | 13 | 25 | .52 |
McGlinchey | 11 | 67 | .164 |
Cunningham | 11 | 41 | .268 |
Daniel | 10 | 115 | .087 |

About 50.
Get rid of the coach, is top of my list, His player policy is like a revolving door!
Agreed think there will soon be fan protests he's worse than that Itailln guy inchagre of Leyton Orient between 2014 and 2017.
Roy is not Roving anymore
About time we signed someone decent

That was the club's owner - Becchetti - nothing to do with the managers. In fact, Leyton Orient's downfall is a prime example of why you SHOUDLN'T sack managers quickly. The season they were relegated from League 2, they had 5 different managers.
If anything, like Orient, we should get a new owner. I think most of us see that Dome presents a much bigger problem than any manager.

be pretty hard to find new owners and ones who are happy to splash the cash and probably willing to lose a sum of money every season i just do not think anyone would do this anytime soon. i could be wrong though.
Well Kosta was rumored to be on 750k,thats a splash and definitely more than minimum.
Not sure where these owners are going to come from probably the same place as all these new players that some people think are just screaming to join us.
Not so sure the owners are the real problem think its more their expectations are higher than what the systems they have put in place can deliver.
Perhaps the owners had no expectations and planned accordingly. I certainly hope they were not aiming for 6th place.
I'm not saying there are necessarily owners out there who would buy us and spend the cash, but I'm saying it's what we need. That Chinese consortium bought the jets when they were dog shark though, so you never know. That has then led them to getting guys like Pato Rodriguez - and I would rather like to have a Pato Rodriguez here

I would rather not have a Chinese consortium own the club, even if it means Pato Rodriguez. It is really easy to get it wrong, the way Brisbane Roar did with the Indonesian consortium buying them when they were struggling financially. Now they still do.

Leyton Orient mangers since 2014 that left.

There 4th manager of last season Danny Webb was only 33 years old.

Sorry NP that term gets thrown around here with worrying regularity, seems many on here are a touch to sensitive. Then again in todays PC overloaded society you cant really expect much more. Will be interested in Mainlands comment but just seems people are to often looking for meanings that were never intended to be there.
Some on here wouldnt want to drink down my local their ears would fair burn off with the racists comments being made at times by the locals to one another, and no pakehas are involved. As i have said a tad to sensitive for their own good.
Haha, I said "xenophobia" rather than the R-word deliberately to avoid reactions like that and it didn't work
I find it interesting that it seems to have become a 'thing' to complain about Huawei (and not from an ethical standpoint) as if they are the enemy
Our sponsorship deal with Huawei is reportedly one of the largest in Australasian sports history FFS. But let's complain about them and while we're at it, let's give the management no credit at all for securing and maintaining this relationship
