Any expert opinions on Muratovic? Good signing?
Contracted Players - Return of the Long Pins
Without jumping to conclusions are there any local kiwi players that are available who could do the roles the two recent Aussie signings will be undertaking.
Enjoying the last few seasons where we have had players develop.
Not many scored tho.

From what's been seen of him in the A-League I'd think he's a sound prospect. Maybe not first XI material straight away but it will be interesting to see how he comes on for us during the season.
Only concern of mine would be were a couple of articles stating his general fitness and condition upon season resumption at the backend of last season, which resulted in severely diminished game time for the lad. I don't think Uffie will have any problem in that regard and will whip him into shape pretty quick smart which should keep him in line.
Also good to see a fair few Brisbane supporters unhappy at him being let go. Let's hope we can turn him into a gem.
In an ideal world, Joshua Laws would be back home with an Olympic medal around his neck. Instead, he has re-started preparations for the postponed 2021 Tokyo - and he hopes Wollongong will provide the perfect launch pad for his chance to impress on the worlds biggest stage. The Olyroos midfielder is in town with Wellington Phoenix as they prepare for the upcoming A-League season. The club is holding their pre-season training camp at the University of Wollongong, with the league kicking off in late December. Its very nice here. Its my first time down in Wollongong and, although I havent seen much of it yet, it seems like a quite relaxed place which is something that draws me in, Laws said. The first week here was a lot of fitness, a lot of running. Were putting in a lot of effort because its going to be a tough season. Its going to be hot so weve all got to be fit. While excited about the upcoming season, Laws has his eye on a long-term goal: representing Australia at next years Olympic Games. The 22-year-old was called up for the recent Olyroos camp, where they played friendly games against Sydney FC and A-League newbies Macarthur FC. It was great to get the call up again, its obviously a huge honour, he said. It was the first camp weve had since qualifying for the Olympics. Its a shame that theyve now been postponed but it will happen regardless, fingers crossed. But its something that were really looking forward to. Theres a really good vibe within the team and everyone is really excited about the preparations for it. Weve now got a period of time between now and next year where hopefully we can have more camps to gel together, and play more together to prepare for the tournament. Australia booked their Olympic dream by beating Uzbekistan 1-0 in the third versus fourth playoff at the AFC Under 23s Championships in Thailand in January. The tournament in Thailand was definitely difficult but we made it, we managed to qualify. It was definitely one of the proudest experiences of my life, Laws said. It was a shame that I couldnt be there at the time, I had to go back to Germany because of an injury. But it was huge, its honestly incredible for any athlete to be part of the Olympics. For now, Laws remains focused on the A-League. It will be his first season in the competition after signing with the Phoenix in October. And as he hopes to make an immediate impression. Ive come to play, as every other player will also say. But I want to be consistently starting and for the team to do well, Laws said. The team did very well last season and were unlucky that it didnt go the way they wanted in the end. But they played really good football and thats something that I have to fit into, and quickly learn how they want to play and quickly execute it. Getting more game time means that your chance of going to the Olympics is also greater, that comes into play at the end of the season. Theres a lot of things to fight for me this season.

Ka pai!!
Looks like we have a penalty taker, along with power in the air and good feet.
Another Nix player making the Daily Mail. I really hope Ball is able to get more compensation than this

What an awful story and awful outcome (so far). Sadly, given what i've heard about the corrupt hellhole of Dubai, this doesn't surprise me. You'd have thought they'd at least cover the legal and medical fees thus far.
Does anyone know whether Tomer Hemed is out of quarantine yet?

Yes pics of him meeting the crew earlier this week.
Excellent . Thanks.
Saw that on the news last night, good watch
Yes, very nice item. Well done
Great to see that the players families have made it out. Should make a big difference for the likes of Hemed, Davila and Ball.
Devere's family there too. His baby must be similar age to Davila's.
Hopefully be a much more settled environment then last years hub.

Another signing that Uffie has history with. I've not seen him play, will be interesting to see how he stacks up against the other striking options.
Bad news for Ben Waine you'd have to say.
We need something, hopefully that competition gets those strikers fired up and scoring

Better than Watson?
Don't know much about this guys ability but he's tall and quick both things we don't have much of in our attack atm so fingers crossed he'll add something to our attack.

Who knows. But he's in Australia so that's a massive plus.
Young tall strikers of an African background, doing pretty well in the A League at the moment. Hopefully a good omen.
Though really hope he's not rushed in ahead of Waine. The young Kiwi deserves at least a crack against WSW first.

Don't expect another Kuol, he is just a younger Athiu.
very uninspired signing. this guy couldnt even make it in brisbane 2019 side that were terrible. I hope he doesnt get given a go ahead of waine.
what are the new guy's main attributes?

Kuol was totally clueless last season and was probably lucky to get a second chance with CCM. So far working out very nicely. But yeah this is more a cross-fingers-and-hope kind of signing.
Good luck to him, hope he grabs his chance.
A good signing. Quick and strong. A handful for defences.

Good to hear, sounds like a Sotirio replacement

This according to Uffie
Charles will give us some energy forward, he’s strong and he’s quick and he likes to run in behind, when was with us during the pre-season and scored a few goals. - Talay
He's also 1.88 metres. Be nice for Nix to score a goal from a direct corner. Seems awhile
Will probably depend what he does in training if he gets a start ahead of Waine. Maybe Waine hasn't done enough to impress Talay meaning he has looked outside the squad
how long Sotirio meant to be out for?
5 weeks + I think. I stand to be corrected
You'd have to think given how long Waine has been at the Nix now that he must obviously not show enough in training that he's capable of a start in the A-League. Perhaps we just need to be realistic that it's very possible he is not good enough at this level, we all want to see young Kiwis do well but multiple coaches now have not really given him an opportuntity which seems telling.

He is still 19 and throwing him in the deep end to lead the line in a struggling team is a lot to ask, he's still got a few years to keep improving before you can even write him off to be good enough for this level. It took rufer quite a few years to get to A-League standard

Here you go.
That was not a great highlights reel!
Is Brockie worth a look. He's always kept fit and to be fair is proven at this level.

To be honest, probably. I'm not a fan of players coming back after doing well with a team as it is very rare for them to repeat the same exploits, but he has bags of experience and could be handy. Not sure he'd fit our limited budget though

age might have been and then his lack of scoring for us.
