Costa's time will come. Perhaps now is the time to come up with a song for him. 17 and living the dream. How many of us wish we were in his position eh? I'd love to be 17 again and doing this for a job for sure.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

Cant really say hes going to be a star and going to be massive after one good performance. I remember everyone last month saying hes to young for the A-League.

Why did last nights match change anything?

yeah i agree there are better players in the team. sure he should be there for a season or two away its good that hes being cultured into a good player but he will have to wait for the better players to finish

Costa looked very good last night, he showed good touch, vision and pace. Particularly I liked his pace.

He got pushed off the ball once or twice, but that happens also to the other regulars. Name me a player in the team who hasnt lost a tackle or two. Some of the ones others have lost out on, have turned to goals against us, he is in the clear there as far as I recall.

At this stage of the season we are unlikely to make the finals. So what should the goal of this team be now?

First goal is to win as many matches as possible, to be as far up the ladder as possible, to establish winning patterns. So we should always be starting our strongest team.

I don't see him making that lineup.

But I would like to see The Boss give him some regular opportunities, say 10 - 15 minutes at the end of 2 or 3 games. And give him a licence to take players on and to shoot half chances.

I would like to see how he does with a clear chance, to see if he is a finisher. We lack finishers in the team.

Several of those more experienced above him in the order now have had golden opportunities but not taken them.

Give him a chance, Ricky.

I haven't been saying that - ever since his first match I thought he should be a regular player, even if it's only as a sub on for the last fifteen or so minutes.

Good for Costa's confidence seeing him run at players, knock some good passes around - good, confident passing. He's quality, and just needs to be managed right to develop into an excellent player. Getting a run last night will have done him the world of good.

School progress report: "Shows lots of potential. Has demonstrated the ability to run at players, and beat them with a quick burst of speed and good ball control. Will develop into a well-rounded player of quality given time and the opportunity to gain confidence in his ability."

eeekkk I just thought I'd publically express my views about costa, cause I thought he did well last night and I've created a stir and enticed rob to have toasties for lunch...

And you know what guys?  (cause theres no other bloody girls here! )
I'm sure Ricky knows what he's doing with Costa, and thats why he gets paid the big bucks....

And at the ripe age of 17, he's got plenty of time to play a full game and Lonegunmen
I totally agree with you, I'd love to be that age again and do what costa's doing (maybe not soccer :)

Hi Lisa Ki. Been enjoying your thoughts too.

Lettin you know that I chose my user name because the main symptoms of Hepatitis are:

Jaundice, a yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes, and fever.

WE'RE (YF) here to watch the football.
THEY'RE (teeny boppers) there to watch the topless british sex symbol.

Not that there's anything wrong with that though
