The
discrepancy has been for longer than just this year though. I wasn't
totally convinced with Dome's explanation and saw one set of figures
where there were a couple of hundred difference and thought - could be,
then another of about 1000 difference and thought - no way.
If
this is widespread and AFA know about it, then not really a problem, if
its not and AFA suspect skulduggery it won't help the Nix case in their
fight for survival.
I'd think that everyone does it and wants give
the impression to everyone but the tax man that they have more people
watching than actually are.
Every club does it in the A-League. Super Rugby/Breaker/Warriors/ITM Cup all do it too.
It's a complete non-story.
No
its not, just because all A League clubs 'do it' doesn't mean its a non
story. If its done for more than just because a couple of 100 per game
get let in the back door to attend functions in the hospitality suite -
you're right but we are talking thousands here sometimes. What is the
purpose of counting attendance? it must have a reason other wise they
wouldn't do it. Of course, because attendence numbers drive sponsorship
and media revenue, at a stretch, if its an orchestrated plan, its
fraudulent. Also mentioned, attendance is one of our metrics for staying
in the A League. Of course its a fudgeing story.
Show me where there are discrepancies of over 2000 people please (you said thousands)
There was in the article I saw but I'm not going to bother searching for it
The figure that they gave in the article was a difference of 941 last season per game, this season it's around 490.
The article states that last year it was 13.8%, this season its 7.2%, the article states that the Australian A-League teams are among the worst offenders, and also that the Warriors are at 28%.
The number is probably inflated because of the sponsors. Any sponsors (and the A-League) are going to do due diligence anyway, and the stadium figures are publicly available.
It's completely a non story.
I'm intrigued as to what this real story is though. I'm guessing Gui went to Brazil to try and convince his family to return.
