We got 10k I think for the Pre-Season final? But I think the midweek attendance heavily relies on our result against Sydney. Another win could see interest build even more, get us on a roll

A midweek game is easier to go to in some cases surely? My work is about 5 minutes from the stadium, and so is everyone's who works around Lambton Quay and The Terrace.

Finish at 5pm, go to pub for tea and a few drinks, go to game. Easy.

I will say that I think it should start at 7pm or 7.30pm - 8pm is a bit later than necessary IMO.

Potentially so the Aussies can watch it after work over there ?

Yeah that's what I thought.

Who cares about them though?!

Seem to recall a Phoenix game kicking off at 5pm on their Labour Day last year. Different rules for us obviously!

Well,way bigger potential audience over there,and it is their competition too remember.

As for midweek games,its not really ideal for families,or those with work in the morning. Handy if you're going to go no matter what,but not everyone is that die-hard,and would probably just give it a miss and go to the next weekend one.

Fair call, with another game on the weekend a lot may save the money and just go on Sunday. Still hopeful of 8k plus.

I think maybe some kinnd of deal could be done for teh two game package. Buy one and get the second game at half price could be a goer....

I've taken a Leave day for the midweek game as I was rostered to work 2pm-10pm. So roll on my 27th consecutive Nix A League game at the ROF.

Mixed feelings about this one. Too late for the kids so they'll be gutted. But at least I can take part in some of the the more R-rated chants.

(had thought about taking them out of school on the thurs but need to save up annual leave for later)

The club should do something similar to the Roa, who have knocked down their tickets to $15 for northern end of Suncorp Stadium plus, $12 (concessions) and $10 (juniors) for the rest of the season. Here

I wouldve thought a reduced ticket price for the midweek game was the way to go. Might be the factor that tips them from not going to going.

Yeah also most uni students will still be the midst of exams. Which never helps. Trying to convince all those who have finished to get along. Will be a good student night in town, kicked off by a 7-0 win.

Ok, will let you off this time

Anyone that's more than 75 - 90 minutes out of town has a valid excuse saying it's too late I think. Anyone with less than that to travel should harden up!

The midweek game plus weekend game double header is good for those of us who have to fly anyway, especially if you have plenty of annual leave, are not above crashing at a mates and found a $70 round trip a while back

Not sure if this deserves another thread but sort of relevant to crowd numbers:

Last para says it all really - struggling to fill stadia EXCEPT of course on 14 Nov

Come on we can get above Perth and Brisbane.

I guess the Wednesday night game Plus ChCh and Palmy North games will count toward it as well.

I found Clive Palmers justification for keeping fans out rather interesting...

Only for the screenshot of his attendence spreadsheet he had made.

http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/115744,gold-coast-boss-comes-out-fighting.aspx

The numbers seem incredibly low in order to sustain a league, but then again I don't know what sort of crowds Rugby, League and AFL get so I probably not the best person to comment.

Summary:

NG Fury = 6,997 - 4.3% of population

Mariners = 8,038 - 2.70%

Phoenix = 8,120 - 2.10%

Jets = 6,006 - 2.08%

GC United = 5,651 - 1.40%

Adelaide = 12,149 - 1.04%

Perth = 9,833 - 0.61%

Victory = 20,243 - 0.51%

Roar = 9,254 - 0.48%

Sydney = 12,962 - 0.29%

Don't believe those stats. The way "he" calculated the population for half of the teams is very debatable at best.

I honestly don't think performance will have a huge bearing on this game. Well compared to usual anyway. A Wednesday night. And late. I think we will get a far below average crowd.

Its a school night, and Most uni studnets have exams. That is a big chunk there already. Hope i am wrong

True,one game of football is way more important than 6 months of your life worth of study. Not everyone is hardcore like you steve-o

Ive got an exam thursday morning and im going,but i probably shouldnt be. Most students who are in the same situation would decide to flag the game in favour of the game this weekend in favour of doing well in their exam. Families with kids who go to school,neutrals who would normally sometimes come in the weekend not bothering because they have work early the next morning. I predict a goldcoast type crowd to be honest.
