Sounds about right, had a bad attitude with us but delivers a good set piece

On wikipedia it says something about him being in a music video so i thought he had became a major star over there. Does anybody know where i can see the video

He started a few games at the start of the season, then the manager realised how sh*t he is (thankfully) we havent seen him since.

I have no idea how he got into a championship level club!

To the faithful here on yellowfever, football is religion....to the rest of the country, it's not big but slowly growing....the rest are still into that crap rugby stuff.

Don't say soccer, we are trying to wein that out of this country, we are not americans....it's leaving....slowly!

If NZ could somehow qualify for world cup 2010 I imagine it growing immensley, we are through to the final playoff for qualification but it's gonna be damn ahrd.

Small.

Well, huge numbers of kids play it, but once they stop, that's it. Most of them turn into rugby heads. Though some people like to think differently...

When the 'Nix get into the ACL, and we get into the world cup...and Daniel is eligible to play for us and....when we we beat England at Wembley (Smeltz 3 1 pen, James, Brown)...

Sc**thorpe...is it hard seeing the North Side of the Humber doing so well, or are you just relishing in Newall's woes?

I said from the word go that we should not sign him.

He was crap for the Vale last season and we released him so that should hint that if a bottom division club dont want him he cant be much good

Oh thats right he had a good game for the All Whites so made him top of the list to be signed!!

So if he is not strong enough for the a league why buy him in the first place

To be fair to Mulligan, he arrived out of shape and had to spend time getting into shape. Before he got into shape, the boss played him a couple of times and to be fair, looked wanting.

I have no doubt he has ability and class, just would have liked to have seen him have the chance to show it when he was fully fit and on song.

I dont think it is fair on us for a player to arrive out of shape.

Didnt we learn anything from El**ch last year?

How long does it take someone to get fully fit??

I've been trying for over thirty years and I still haven't got there (although I haven't been trying particularly hard).

At least he's consistent then....

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I was amped when Mulligan first signed. He definitely hasn't lived up to his potential... but I think It's there. If he gets a chance to play consistently I still think he will be one of the better players in the A-league (maybe I'm overly optimistic).

We're letting Hull enjoy there short spell of good fortune. To be honest everybody loves an underdog so there is a small and i mean tiny piece of me thats slightly pleased for them. As for the cod heads i am absolutely loving their current situation.

So when do you guys play next? Is it available on english satellite tv?

An how many of you are ex-pats surely the port vale guy is!

Next game is about a week and a half away. Don't know about getting it on English satellite but you can watch New Zealands the worlds best club here.

Its Sunday 23rd against Jets. 6pm kickoff our time.Gangsta!2008-11-14 02:36:58

I live in the UK, no coverage unfortunately except a half an hour highlights which appears sporadically, often during the day on a Tuesday (Hyundai A-League Highlights).  It's a mix but generally most are kiwis (but just about everyone has an ex-pat British parent, we're a young country!)

Normo's coming home

Yeah, coz he's still at that tender age when he needs to be nurtured and developed for the tough world of professional football...

None that are immediately obvious from what I've seen so far

I don't think being unfit is a good enough excuse, he was utterly devoid of skill when he played hitting long balls straight out for throw ins and generally looking like an amateur.
Charlie Miller isn't exactly in good shape but at least he had the skill to compensate for it, so that excuse doesn't work for me.
I find it a joke that he was given a two year contract as well.

Thats Mully taking the freekick at about 25 seconds in

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=C9x5eJjwibA&NR=1

i also believe this is him too.

What i don't understand is that he's in the New Zealand squad and hes crap. Is there loads of foreign players over there?

No, it's just that we have very few good players so the likes of Mulligan can make the national squad.

He played at right back, which is a difficult position in the A-league, but not as diffficult in the Oceania qualifiers.

I think he was rated by a lot of us, on the basis of his English experience (ya must know something!), his freekicks, which we had seen before hand and his long standing national team selection, by our club coach.

He didn't play well at all here so far, at a time when the team weren't playing well. He seemed to have a bit of a fitness and attitude problem. He perhaps also had low expectations of the A-league.

I think he must have something more to show that we haven't seen. Least I'm hoping that for our world cup campaign.

I think too much was expected, and he delivered far too little.

We have certainly had our share of crap at right back and Mulligan ranks right up there with the worst of them. Struck me as a panic buy after Lia got injured.

Unfit, poor attitude and lack of skill but other than that he'd be ok in NZFC.

Not if his performance today against NZFC opposition was anything to go by. I thought he was sh*t.
