Hi all,

I notice they've got the organised violence final set down for Westpac Stadium on Saturday evening at 7.35pm.

No doubt that means the pitch will have the remnants of those sodding on-field logos they use for such events in evidence when the A-League game takes place at 5pm the following afternoon.

One thing's for sure - all traces of anything of that nature will need to be gone completely by 30 October, or the stadium groundstaff will have a helluva lot of explaining to do to FIFA, amongst others.

Let's hope you have a dry week weather-wise down there, too.

Cheers,

JR

I'm picking a 2-0 win, Smeltzy and Superleo to score.

Lineup is pretty straightforward i think, with the only change being bertos for Kwassa.
bench: Moss, Daniel, Kwasnik, Draper.
Draper? It's time to see one of the young guns shine.
You know we belong together...

hopefully the ref will have the brains and the balls (and the cards!) to stop the traditional Queensland practice of rotating the fouls

no wonder the Seovian cheats are known as the 'Clogs'

would field..

                         Paston

Sigmund   Dodd   Durante   Lochhead

                   Johnson/McKain

Bertos         Brown               Gao

          Smeltz         Coveny

Bench:
Moss
Johnson/McKain
Daniel
Draper

still not sold on mckain, so will sit on the fence. kwasnik dropped because if he's not starting (which he doesn't to deserve to based on his performances), he's not exactly an impact player.

Paston or Moss, I don't mind, but I'd be happy to see Bertos, Gao and Daniel on the park too. Don't think it will happen though.

Press conference at the Clogs this afternoon.

Rumoured to see big changes to the off field operations of the club to try and actually engage with a rapidly growing number of people who aren't buying in to the Roar in general.  I think they are terrified of the numbers in the shrinking crowds heading off to support Miron the mouth and the Gold Coast.

How's my driving? - Whine here

They should be... the Roar is too closely associated with one club (Qld Lions) and that alienated a lot of Brissy/SEQ football fans right from the start... will be interested to see how they plan to combat it - short of a name and/or strip change lol

They might have to change their name next season anyway, wouldn't they? Since "Queensland" also covers NQFC and (most of) GCU's territory? Brisbane Roar FC?

Also, bring on a strip change. Orange + maroon hurts my eyes.

(Orange only works with blue, with a diamond-shaped logo )

The Orange & Blue is Qld Lions (Bluddy dutchies are everywhere lol) colours... the maroon was only there as a nod to Qld which was insisted by the FFA... soon to become irrelevant loll

Well the Roar are definitely the team I'm least interested in.

Very interesting, Covs not even on the bench, R u serious? We tried Bertos, Gao and Daniel but it was obvious you cant have all three on the park at once (they are too lazy). Covs should start at striker and Daniel should be on the bench.

Apart from the Moss clone I quite like the look of this team but I don't think we will get to see it. The only game I remember when all 3 were on the field was against CCM home Pre-season and that in my mind was our best performance this season. However you can't really change winning combinations so I think we will see...

                                Paston
Sigmund----Dodd---Durante----Lochead
Gao-----Mckain----Brown----Kwasnik
                    Coveny--- Smeltz

I'd prefer Bertos in for Kwassie but can't see it happening.

I reckon we could, SuperLeo was in good touch for the time he was on at the end, beat a few to take the ball into the corner, just need some delivery to Smeltzy and Covs.

I mean I think he should be in but Ricki will most probably stick with the winning team.

Agree with two up front, you have to play two up front in the A-league, it should almost be compulsory(imo)

I hope Leo or Daniel gets the nod ahead of Kwasnik. Really, the guy's been given a decent crack at it and simply failed to deliver.

I remember seeing Leo a few times last season - when he's on-song he's electrifying. Just what we need to put some oomph into our attack.
