dropped a fair few points already due to this dreaded

I didn't watch the tv program but from what you said I think he
partly has a point.
In my view saying that a team concedes 'dumb goals' doesn't
necessarily mean that they're a team of muppets - or anything like
that.
It just mean that our defence can and should improve.

I agree, there's no refuting the evidence really... there's
probably at least 3 goals we've concede 'softly' that have cost us
a point or two each...

Agreed, I reckon we've thrown away at least 3 games with a late
goal. Its a shame but I guess its the way football is.

Seems fair enough comment to me. I think calling the 2 goals we
gave away last week 'dumb' would be a an understatement

Aside from the weekend just been, lets have a look at the last few
goals we've conceeded:
Noocastle - in behind fullback, good cut back and finish into
top corner. Great first time ball from midfield to striker
who had made space, and finished nicely. Wouldn't call either
of them "dumb" goals to conceed.
QLD - wonder strike into top corner after 1 minute, and good
cross, great run and good finished header. Again, not really
dumb goals.
Perth - great little through ball picks out midfielders late
run, and then smart finish through the keepers legs.
I can't be bothered thinking back any further, but that is the
problems with football - a) every goal conceeded is a dumb goal -
someone not closed down quick enough, runner not tracked, etc and
b) people only remember 1 game back. We conceeded 2 dumb
goals in the weekend, so now we are tarred with a brush that says
we always conceed dumb goals.

You've probably remembered them better than most of us, you'd have
to concede though that the so called "dumb" goals have cost us at

Maybe 'dumb' may be a little harsh at times, but then again,
the difference between a soft and a dumb goal isn't that
much.
Besides, if you concede 'early/soft' goals in the first 10-15'
of 3 games in row..perhpas then dumb becomes somehow affectionate
as others could have been harsher.
Anyway, let's hope on sunday Adelaide will be the ones
conceding anything dumb on the pitch
