And they all played (possibly) with big fellas next to them...I thought the point was that a big fella would act as a foil to the strikers we already have?

Missing the point - Tony P has said that both European strikers who will be trialling are big boys/targetmen.

At 166cm, this guy certainly ain't big enough to fill that role, so it's highly unlikely it's him.

I agree if we do get a small striker,they would have to be paired with a taller,bigger striker.

Is this dutch chap one of the two strikers Tony P mentioned?

I like that Ricki has identified the type of player he wants and the club are looking for that.

i think it will be great havin a tall striker.

i think the A-League needs a Peter Crouch.

- target man for corners/crosses
- target man for the long ball


- then, when no one is expecting it, we change our target man (but we don't actually)

we just give that title to somebody else - for eg. Tim Brown

so now, the opposition will be like

"hey, you see that useless twat doing nothin in the mid-field"
"yea"
"mark him close, keep your eyes on 'em"
"umm.... what about the tall fella up front?"
"na, they're not smart enough to have him as the target man."

It's more likely to be Juliana IMO. He's more experienced, has scored more goals (43 from 146) and isn't a midget at 1.76m.
