Thanks to Wikipedia and google translate I found this guy who is 24, striker (forward) for
FC Dordrecht and his contract just ended...
Resham Sardar
Resham Sardar is a Dutch footballer of Hindu origin.
Sardar started football at SV Kijkduin which at its sixth year gescout by Feyenoord. The next sixteen years, the entire youth of the club through. In addition to all youth at Arsenal he has in all national teams to the Dutch team in the 19 years played.

2008/09 FC Dordrecht 11 1 Jupiler League
Total 40 7
I'm also of Dutch descent and have been trawling for info on Google. Here's what I've found:
Sardar: Born in den Haag, Netherlands. Of Indian descent- probably his family immigrated from Suriname (former Dutch territory in South America, on northern border of Brazil, which is predominantly of Afican descent but also has a community from the Indian subcontinent).
References to Syria as place of origin on some sites are just a bad translation of "Suriname."
Former Netherlands U-17 and U-19 international:
A starter for Netherlands in Euro U-17 Finals 2002. Played in 0-2 loss to an England side
featuring Wayne Rooney. Mentions he blazed one over the bar- Go to
www.uefa.com and enter "Resham Sardar"
Played for the Netherlands U-19 side in qualification for Euro U-19 Finals in 2004 in a side coached by Ruud Gullit. Google:" Netherlands vs Lithuania 24/05/04" He started and was subbed by Ryan Babel of Liverpool fame.
Best way to find info on Sardar is to Google "
www.jupilerleague.nl " then click on "Translate" which will take you to the English translation of the official Dutch Second Division website; there click on "Clubs" and then "FC Dordrecht". Finally find Sardar's name in the "Team" list on the right side, click on that and some stories about him will come up (in English translation).
Actually, this list of players shows that his club Dordrecht have some hilariously-named players which seem straight out of Monty Python (hard to believe, but these are real names!!!) e.g.:
Brian Satisfied, Rocky Siberia, Reinhard Brain Berg, Brian Pinas, Eddy Putter, Ruud Kras
Maybe this doggerel will help us remember their names:
"Rocky was satisfied with his pinas the size of a putter but to someone with a brain it would just be ruud and kras."
Are any readers familiar with the long-running football cartoon strip in UK satirical magazine "Private Eye" of the misadventures of the infamous (fictitious) "Neasden FC"? Reminds me of that too (a club with only two supporters, the notorious Sid and Doris Bonkers).
Look up Dordrecht's team list following the link above and, like me you'll be both amazed and amused!!!
Another source of info: the official FC Dordrecht site: Google "
www.fcdordrecht.nl " and then hit "Translate"
Of course Dordrecht already have a Wellington connection, with ex-All White Raf de Gregorio having once played for them.
