Travel on trains is free with match ticket anyway.

Was planning on taking the bus to britomart, then train from there... so free train tickets don't mean much without a way to get to the train station.

Where are you coming from? Because if it's the shore then the northern express is still running?

Not the North Shore; it is one of the routes that isn't running tomorrow.

"Auckland Transport has been advised that from tomorrow Saturday, 7 December bus services operated by NZ Bus will not operate until further notice due to industrial action.

Bus routes operated by NZ Bus that will be impacted

CityLink, InnerLink, OuterLink, TāmakiLink, 14T, 14W, 18, 20, 22A, 22N, 22R, 24B, 24R, 24W, 25B, 25L, 27T, 27W, 27H, 30, 68, 75, 82, 101, 105, 106, 110, 122, 125, 125X, 128, 129, 162, 252, 253, 221X, 223X, 243X, 248X, 295, 321, 650, 670, 751, 755, 762, 774, 775, 781, 801, 802, 806, 807, 814, 842, 843, 871, 923, and 924."

Anyway, I'm sure I can work out an alternative and considering most Aucklanders are scared of taking the bus I doubt it will effect crowd numbers too much.

Anyone bringing a drum to this one?

To be accurate it's a bus lockout. The drivers have been taking industrial action by not collecting fares, but now the company has said they'll suspend them for doing that and has preferred to cancel services rather than let it happen. But same difference for consumers, I suppose.

I've heard from some Auckland friends trying to get tickets that a lot of the stadium isn't actually open for seating - its all on one side - and that there are only poor seats left in what is open. Last year they opened up everything and it was great.we ended uip high on the south side and the view was magnificent.  He reckons that if they don't open up more blocks soon so there are decent seat options then he and his crew will just stay at home and watch it on TV. Its sounds a bit messy. Not like Westpac/Sky Stadium where you get a ticket and then can pretty much wander to wherever you like.

Maybe there isn't anywhere near as a big crowd brewing there this time round? Else they'd be opening up more sections i would assume.

I hope there is more then 7k going to the game, by the sound of it only 4k will turn up.

The coloured sections are what's on sale. Not sure which parts of it would be described as 'poor seats' to the point that people would stay home because of it. I think the greyed out ones from 405-408 and 410 are as such because they're sold out.  The other three stands don't seem to have been put on sale. I'd say it looks like it's headed for somewhere between 9 and 11 thousand. Can't really blame them for not opening up sections they don't need to – the purse-string holders at Welnix will definitely be fine with it. Selling from 307-327 would probably be better atmosphere wise, but TV cameras rule the roost, it seems.

I bought the two ticket northern membership this year, and was allocated a seat in 406. That's my fault for not getting in touch to ask to be in the Fever Zone more than anyone else's.

If any other randoms moan about the zone, tell them I'll trade!

Anyone else noticed they think a football pitch is the same size as a cricket wicket?

Not surprised the numbers are down on last year, there's much less "buzz" around the team right now. That said, if we pull off an epic win tomorrow, the chances of getting 20K at the next Eden Park game will much increase.

Thats why I haven't bought a membership this year. Dunno why they don't just give everyone a unique coupon to get a ticket where they want.

To be fair, I did get a 'please contact us' email one week before the PDF's just showed up in my inbox, but that was labelled about 'choose your match' as there was a one ticket membership option.

If I had contacted them during that window, maybe they could have sorted something out, maybe they would have still mucked it up.

I agree though, a coupon would have been the best option.

Last year if I remember correctly, the fever zone was pretty much "free game", everyone just found a space to stand roughly behind a seat. Security was awesome about it, and the ones that didnt want to stand were happy to find another seat, sometimes even in a better viewing location. The way that Ticketek is handling it this year is very similar, with the same sort of promotional messages and pictures as last year. I just got an email about stadium protocol and there was a bit about the fever zone in it.

The only problems that i can see with this year, is the fact the zone has moved closer to the halfway line, and is in a more desireable area, thus more unaware punters that may be unhappy to move.

On the day, i would suggest waiting til close to kick off, find a spot in the zone, and just stand there until you get told to move. You always have your seat in 406 to fall back on if security is a bitch.

(Ps. Last year I asked for a seat in the fever zone and i got placed right at the back next to the acessability seats, so i just moved closer to the action right before kickoff and no one moaned)

Unless I read it wrong, I noticed last night that if you're buying a ticket through ticketek, they're charging outrageous fees for ticket delivery. Regular mail was $8.25, venue collection was $8.25, and mobile/ezyticket options were $5.25! (So really, adult tickets aren't $25 like it says, they're at least $30.25 plus any fees that are added by Ticketek).

That could be enough to put people off buying a ticket until they're actually at the venue but if they don't open up any other sections, some could miss out altogether.

someone on trade me selling 4 tickets and no one has bid all week, closes in 3 hours with a starting bid of $40.00 and no reserve so could get 4 tickets for $40.00. only down side is they are email tickets you print yourself so you have to trust that the person is honest.

This is my plan. Cheers mate :thumbs up emoji:

I remember the first game at Eden Park, zone was pretty much bang on the halfway line, and if I remember correctly, had a slight discount to encourage people to fill the zone.

The cluster you are imagining from that combo is correct.

It is strange, there is no fees for ezy tickets and mobile tickets for games at Westpac.

It will be a very tough game imo. After 4 losses the Wanderers will want to start getting results.

Heard Babbel talk about a lack of organization after their game last week so I'd expect them to be drilled this week and giving it their all.

Having said that our Nix are a solid team now and no easy beats. Hoping for 3 points! I'd say another 2:1 win

I saw Domey quoted online saying they weren't expecting the 20k from last year, but thought they'd get around 15k....sounds a touch optimistic based on what you're all saying here...

Why's it odd, $250 for two tickets and accommodation seems a good deal and you don't have to worry about getting around Auckland. People love behind the scenes stadium stuff and some people go mad for Eden Park.

Next game or next season they might try advertising before fans have booked flights and accomodation!

It’s odd because you don’t hear many, if any, Nix fans say, I really want to get inside Domey!

It's certainly one of those odd deals, but surprisingly is pretty good value compared to some of the ridiculous prices on offer from nearby accomodation providers! That and you don't have to fight through the notorious Auckland traffic to just get to your seat in time for kick off...
