To say players have lost because they don't care or aren't passionate is hugely unfair. Have people never done poorly at something they cared a lot about?

Of course everyone has an off day from time to time,  however these are professional players and they have been having an "Off Day" for 2 months

So every player who loses or doesn't play well just needs to care more or try harder? Look at how pissed off Roly just was.

You have to hope Ben Williams is on the take because otherwise he is just a useless waste of space and oxygen

Losing to city is bad.

But another performance like this is worse

I think we are being shown the value of moving away from a winning combination. Boxall at FB, Fenton in midfield, and A-rod on the bench has not worked.

lol...but we will of course politely clap at end of game...as article this morning said we had expectations.  Legitimate expectations

It goes back to mental toughness,  we lack that at the moment.  We achieved the goal that was set early in the season and then switched off

He is not the reason we are losing but your point remains.

So in summary, its fair to say that we can accept a loss but the manner in which we are losing is the most dis-heartening?

We have not fired a shot and that is frustrating. Its a whimpering end.

Saved myself about $400 and a day's annual leave by not travelling down from Napier for this one.

The frustrating thing for me is that if you take out the Central Coast game, we have scored one goal in the last 450 minutes of football.  We just haven't looked like we are in the contest.  I know News and others got a lot of shark for the 'Not a Striker' gag, but not having anything but wingers-cum-forwards is really haunting us.

I think people are mad if they think that Nathan Burns has had a better season than Aaron Mooy.

Rod pulling out of a challenge when we're 2-0 down and then committing a foul..sigh

The frustrating thing is that we've been sharke for the last month. It's not like this performance is a surprise, just a continuation.

Uh call me mad but I think Mooy is massively over-rated. Like that Twit Hersi from Perth. 1 trick ponies.

FTR, it is fair enough to criticise the way we have played in the last six weeks. I just think saying the reason we lost is because we don't care is cheap. It's up to Merrick to find out the reasons and decide where we go from here. I honestly don't know why we have turned to shark but I don't think it is a simple fix.
