Won't know who we are facing until after tonight's game but might as well start a thread.
Elimination Final vs Glory | Sat 22nd Aug | 7:00pm | SS7
Glory Please. But think both these teams are beatable.

Perth are a shambles at the moment.
WU are virtually the opposite.
I don't think I can take another early exit. We need a semi-final minimum

We won't play WU - Perth or Brisbane are the options. Perth definitely the more preferable one.

If the Snakes knock the Smurfs and Citeh out, I will have to give them my grudging thumbs-up
Christchurch based fans.
Come join the party at Robbies Riccarton Sports Bar & Restaurant to watch the Elimination Finals match.

Any word on Churchill event or anything alike?
Lets really hope it is the Glory.
Only team Nix has beaten since games restarted.
Lost 4 of their 6 hub games.
Rumours of nepotism and a player walking out.
No Castro or Ikonomidis, plus defenders Swiss international Gregory Wuthrich and Korean Kim Soo-Beom (yeah googled the last 2) never returned post Covid.
Like the Nix in a hub 4 hours flying away from family. Perth feels like another country to most Aussies, and I presume vice versa if you live in the world's most remote big city (most remote above 1M people or something).
A controversial owner who openly stopped player wages in the Covid break.
And the baggage that they blew their big chance to finally be champions last season when hosting the GF, in that brand new shiny beautiful stadium, when it finally seemed their time. That would have & will still hurt. They have a proud long history (by Aussie standards) going back to NSL, but they have never been A League champs. Arguably biggest club in the league not to win the big dance.
Their “Premiership window” under Poppa may have gone after losing last season, and a lot of that expensive squad having moved on now. Is Poppa consigned to be the best A League coach never to win the toilet seat?
Nix fans maybe a bit flat at the moment, but it would be worse to be a long standing Glory supporter. Robbed by Berisha's dive in that GF at Suncorp in 2012. Nix should be good chance against them.
COYN
Any word on Churchill event or anything alike?
The Nix were (still are?) planning an event at Shed 6 similar to the one at Mac's for the game against Adelaide. Don't know if they're still going through with it given the Level 2 restrictions now.

It's table only service at L2 restriction so that will be why.
I'm back with my always correct predictions, I've turned the corner - opened a new chapter in my life and see a more positive out come coming up for the Nixs. Glory/Roar will just beat us 2-1 with a late pen in the 90min to once again as always crash us out of the finals series. Ending the chapter that was the Wellington Phoenix in the A-League as there shown the door without a license and forever become a superstition myth that a New Zealand club can be successful in a Australian league.
COYN!
Hopefully we get the Glory, although we can beat the Roar too.
It's a good thing our Elim Final is on the 22nd and not the 23rd. Means we only have to win 3 games in 8 days, as opposed to 3 in 7 days, to be the Champions!
Not much of a break for winners of the second Elim final, having to play Sunday, then the SF on Wednesday.
Rudan has put out the B team vs City. Good chance we will get to face the Glory now.
Goal for City after 12 mins after an awful WU clearance.
what's our plan with no Hooper? Changes of formation? Of personnel? Ultimately those who questioned his reliability for us were proved right. Injured and out of the finals. Don't get me wrong- would love him to keep playing for us, but next year is guna be different. The top two version of the side required him. What is our last throw of the dice? I'd hope Uffie has more about him than Rudan, who used that finals game as development for a player he was taking with him. Trust and hope someone finds their shooting boots?
what's our plan with no Hooper?
Rufer as an out and out striker. He is due.
Am glad we’re getting the Glory and not Brissie, we might be able to sneak through with a penalty earned by Libby or Elliott now.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrivals!!
At least with Roar we had a chance, but now we got Glory with Bruno about to hit form we are done for.

I feel you are taking the piss- but I do wonder if some innovation or dice roll like that might be a way to go. Open the bowling with Dipak.

That sounds awfully familiar
We should line up like this
Marinovic
Elliot Taylor Devere Cacace
Matti Devlin
Davlia Reno
Ball McCowatt
I have faith in McCowatt to be able to do a job up top

You're not wrong that he's due, hasn't scored a goal in almost 20 years!
We will have to keep Bruno out of the game, Glory will do like wise with Davila.
Finals preview of @PerthGloryFC's new Diego Castro-less setup since the #ALeague restart! Looking at:
— Nick Gerver (@ALeague_Apart) August 20, 2020
- Tony Popovic's new formation
- Bruno Fornaroli's contributions
- A defensive reshuffle
- Teams breaking Perth's high press#OneGlory @ALeague #WELvPERhttps://t.co/IsgTkCr5PL

I'd almost be tempted to start Rufer over Matti been a lot better since the restart tbh

Almost like they have different instructions or game plans. We score from early pressure and Matti looks much better tho!
If we do make it past Perth, we're gonna have a rough turn around of just 4 days to get ready for a fully rested City. I don't think our chances of winning this thing are very high... But fudge it! Come on you boys! Defy the odds!
VAR is back. Why now and not at the restart of the season. Might have meant a bye for us this weekend.

Taylor as a Target Man up top? We know he loves a bit of niggle with opposition keepers already!
Anyone in Christchurch wanting to watch with other nix fans, Robbie's Ricarton will be hosting.
