By the sounds of the article on the front page, he's as good as gone.

Can't see anybody being dissapointed?

I can't say I'll miss him, Leo will take his place as a right winger, but we will lack depth unless another winger is signed.

If it happens i just hope it dosnt come to bite us on the arse.I find it interesting in this quote from the article:

"The most important thing last season was not to have any problems with my knee," Elrich said.

"I did not have any problems, and now I am very confident with it.

"Once I have a proper pre-season I will be a lot fitter and a lot sharper.

Does suggest something many of us suspected that he wasnt putting in as he should have been and was holding back.Having seen him play before his injury i was hoping we could keep him in the hope he might start to show some of his previous form.

Yeah but he was never going to take a huge paycut to stay with us. Having him on as marquee again would have just been plain wrong.

Allegedly

Maybe so Ballane, but even if he wasnt trying, his crossing was still f**king abysmal, and you dont have to run a marathon to put a decent ball in.

I suspect he was a marquee in name only, not on big $$

yep, my thoughts too Ballane (well apart from the keeping him bit) - if he moves (and it sounds probable) i expect he'll be well motivated against us

and chocnut - no thanks, we can do better

From people who had watched him before his injury or indeed whenever before he came to the Phoenix, was he ever a good crosser, or was he more the sort of winger who cuts into the box and puts in shorter passes, or goes for goal?

No arguments from me if he leaves. Apart from that single wonder goal he completely failed to live up to expectations; not only that, he didn't improve at all despite ample opportunities.

For Elrich's sake I hope I'm wrong, but it looks to me as if that knee injury has perhaps permanently robbed him of his best weapon, speed. If he couldn't regain at least some of that over the course of 3/4 of a season I can't see that some pre-season training's going to get it back.

good news. Sign another winger who can cover left and right and we are sweet to go.

Yep, confirms my thoughts that he always put himself before the team.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Bring on Leo.

Honestly lads, it could be scurrilous rumour mongering.

I have an awful feeling that if he went he'd end up burning us at some point.

Could be a negotiation tactic if they're mid-talks.  Get it in the press that there's other interest in him and his wage demands go up...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Fulham were pretty quick to show him the door when he got back to playing.  I suspect they knew they had been sold a pup.  Looks to me like he's put some weight on he's probably not going to lose now.  Yeah, he may get the odd goal against us in the future but frankly we need more than he's offered us so far.  I've backed him to the hilt this season, but by the end even I wanted him to feck off.

Reading the article, he's clearly desperate to get back to Aus.  No effort and no commitment means no deal in my book.

I think Jesse Ryder is faster than him - especially on his way to the bar

Isn't it great to know that that we've helped the poor lad in his quest to return to full fitness, by subsidising a season's worth of rehab on his knee. He can f**k off as soon as possible as far as I'm concerned.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

On the Fulham forum there are quite a few people who rated him a the worst player to have ever been at the club. That's not the sort of marquee standard the 'nix need. And I can see him being a whinee little sod creating disharmony while sitting on the bench as part of the squad if he stays.

If he performs well at another club good on him.As long as we sign people who step up more than him they should be able to keep him at bay.

From the replays I caught over here and the general feeling on the forum it didn't look likely that he'd strike form here anyway, his heart never looked in it and he always looked lazy. These media comments only confirm that for me - whether engineered by his agent Tony Rallis or not.

Now maybe we can try and get Leilei Gao back, he was an excellent winger for the Knights.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

He was an extra expensive baggage to carry around. Great to drop that extra load full of bricks.

i think he will be a lot better next season, whoever he plays for.  Having a full pre-season under his belt will see him fitter, slimmer and a lot sharper.  I hope he doesn't come back and bite us in the ass.

don't care if he does to be honest, as long as we score more when he does. i can't believe how unprofessional he could be, publicly saying that he came here to pretty much get himself slowly back to playing fitness so he could bugger off back to australia, he should be thrown out, or take a lesson from leo on how to be a professional while still being at a club.

Yeah, after Durante's solid performance last night against Queensland, we'd be the winners if the Jets don't have a change of heart and up their offer to try and keep him.

I think it will be sad to see him leave,as much as he was terrible, I'd like to see what he can do on a full preseason buildup, perhaps not as a marquee player but a bencher!

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

no chance at him staying to be a bencher, and i'm sure he knows that because of how crap he played and the fact we singned leo he will be if he stays, his egos way too big to stay on the benhch

Never mind the pre-season build up. He had plenty of in-season time to improve and he didn't. He got slower and lazier.

Bye bye. Go play with your little brother, you might learn something about passion and commitment.
