Stand by my previous comments. This is the daily record reporting (what is that rag?). Seem to recall Leo Bertos was going to be signed by Spurs by a more reputable media source

Record (a.k.a daily ranger) is full of sharke. But, A-rod has been good for 'Well. A number of players use the league as a stepping stone on to bigger leagues.

Motherwell playing Rangers this weekend, so no surprise that rumours about Motherwell players suddenly swirling around.

Have to say that was my first thought but decided not to check. Tried and exhausted technique by them.

I really enjoyed Stein. Think he would have been remembered much more fondly by Nix fans if he'd played in a slightly different era.

Liked him... thought he did well in a system not really made for him, Ricki just couldn't make him into a target man!

Hah, Mirjan is still around. See that Mateo Poljak is at Marconi too (obviously not ex-Nix, but still ex-A league).

I rated him too. I fought for his ratings on the FIFA games back then when I edited Wellington - was a fan of his touch - hence his drastic ball control/dribbling stats between Fifa 15 and 17 lol Also had one of the best potential ratings of the league which was supposed to max out at 70.

Good on him!

At least he has the time to be a full time dad, wonder if another a league team will take a chance in him or if he's spent the last few years since his string of injuries training for a life outside of football.

Just wondering if anyone else got an email from Reece Crowther about a horse racing prediction service? I'm assuming the NZ TAB was how they got my email.

I wonder if his Kickstarter backers ever got their money back from a previous get rich scheme he was involved in?

absolutely, fair enough though. I wonder how his misso is going to cope - she didn't like Wellington because it was too small, dunno if she knows that Al Faisaly is based in a tiny shark hole called Harmah

Well it has 9000 people and an equestrian club, only 45 in summer.

Their daughter will be at school now, I wonder if they might head home to give her a more normal childhood whilst Roly is playing in Saudi tbh.

2 hour drive to the nearest airport... She'd probably just skip Saudi Arabia and head straight to Dubai.

Holy shark! I always thought Roly is a family man, why would you do this? This is a big mistake. It's Saudia Arabia, a country with politics anyone here should not agree without getting banned. But the quality of living, I prefer earthquakes over this:

My guess is the reason has several zeroes in it (that will ultimately enable him to better support his family).

Expats in Saudi live very well - the gated communities are very social, having their own tennis, pool and golf clubs normally. The cost of a live in nanny is less that 250nz a month, so heaps of help if wanted so you can socialise etc.

Lived in Dubai for 6 years, the schools, shopping and nightlife leaves NZ and Australia for dead.

Saw on Twitter that Cleberson is coaching Redlands FC in the Queensland NPL. Unsurprisingly his team has conceded 44 goals in 13 games.

This post seems a bit arrogant. Like you know what is best for the Bonevacia family. Just because you think it's a mistake doesn't mean it is for them. Different people like/prefer different things.

Pretty sure AWs had a game against Redlands as a warmup to ONC, in PNG a few years ago.

Haha, since when are unfiltered comments here considered arrogant?

If Roly would be friend, I would told him exactly the same. This looks clearly about the money, football and quality of life can’t be the reason for the move.

I like the guy, and hope it turns out well for the Bonavacia family, we’ll see.

Questioning whether he is actually a family man seems off to me. And I don't think any of us really know anything about what their quality of life will be from this move unless someone somehow knows where they'll actually all be living etc. Yes, I'm sure we all agree a big part of the move is money, but money & quality of life aren't mutually exclusive.

I'm sure she got out of Wellington quicker than that!

Anyway, I love Roly, even if I wish he'd stayed with us longer, so got to wish him nothing but good luck.

Money might be good, but lifestyle will take some getting used to. I think I'd rather live in Hamilton!

Yeah, an economy based on slave labour offers a great lifestyle, if you're not a slave. That's why some people are still nostalgic for the Confederate States of America.
