They've got a good product, but grew incredibly quickly at a level that's difficult to sustain. Unsurprising they're contracting now, its part of the life cycle of the business. Real test will be if they can build momentum again with new products and continue to innovate because trying to specialise in sustainable footwear is not a cheap business to be in.

I'll keep buying their high top mizzles and dashers as long as they're around though, love them.
The problem is also that they had first mover advantage but now plenty of other companies are competing with them, including ones which are much smaller and niche and ones which are massive enterprises.  They're at a tough part in their growth where they no longer have the cache of being niche and cool but also don't have the scale of larger businesses.

It says they're partnering with ADIDAS, I could see them being acquired especially as ADIDAS needs to replace yeezy as their upmarket sub-brand.
Definitely a lot more competition now.

I know they partnered with Adidas in the past but I think that was a one time deal and I'm not aware of any further collaboration. The M0.0nshot is all Allbirds afaik.

Are they going to be playing in the new oversized stadium? Heard that lots of the football community aren’t happy with the amount wasted on it given it won’t be at capacity for 95% of the time. Sounds very familiar 😂

Nix legend extends his stay in India.

Good on him, but Jesus I would've been pissed if he'd used us as a bargaining chip again to get a better deal over there. Thankfully that doesn't sound like the case this time around with Chiefy not really entertaining the prospect when he was a free agent.

Still, good luck to him at Odisha. Possibly his swansong year in the game?

Might not be the #1 at Perth for long if he keeps that kind of performance up, let alone the #1 for the AW's

Awful setback for Sotirio with news that he's suffered a season ending ankle injury which will require surgery and a long layoff for rehab too.

All the best for the recovery Jaushy.

Could be another example of:

1. A success at the Nix
2. "I'm too good for this podunk club"
3. Transfers somewhere flashier
4. "OH FU---"

Many such cases!

Or he was just feeling a bit stale after about 8 seasons at the one club/job, had a partner living in Australia, and Perth offered him a higher salary.

Many such cases (Kiwis moving to Australia for a change, love and/or more moolah).

Dome has said as much. The Nix do a lot off the field to get the best from the players on it and other teams don't have that supportive environment.

The Nix have been missing Gothard tbh. At least that’s a gut feeling.
Still new crew time. Not many copybooks blotted yet. Plenty of time to make things happen.

The lad can play many positions but CB in a back 3 is not one of them, his defending is the weakest area of his game. Far more likely to be wide left.

That's what i remembered from his time after Cacace had left. Hoping that he's improved that part of his game at CCM. Obviously actually scored goals for them too.

I feel that Plastic Roundabout would be a great name for a band or an album…

But surely McGarry with his goals and attacking play won’t be a central defender?

If they play a back 3 surely LWB is the obvious position he'd play? Definitely suits him more than LB.

Matija Ljujic with a 31-minute hat trick for top Hungarian side Ujpest in a 3-3 draw with Puskas Akademia - so four goals in their first two games of the season. Always thought he was a fantastic player and his stay here was far too short - quality scouting, picking him up from the Lithuanian league.

Played in the top tiers of Portugal, Israel, South Korea, Azerbaijan and Hungary since leaving us. Still only 29

He seemed to get a little lost in the 10 role the longer the season went on, but it's hard to judge anyone on that god awful season. Krishna got 4 that season I think, and then the very next he slapped in 19. I agree though, there was something about him. A bit of stability could've seen him turn into something special. That debut goal will always be one of my favourite nix goals, the trajectory of the ball was crazy

Wonder where he'll end up next? He seemingly enjoyed his time in the UAE, and with a bit of success with Gulf United winning back to back league campaigns in the UAE Third & Second Divisions.

Back to the UK?

Not an ex-Nix player, but a former player with a NZ club in Australia's top flight.
This guy is now probably the most successful former player from a NZ club in the Aussie top flight to emerge as a top coach.
John Lammers, striker with the Football Kingz in the old NSL in the 1999 - 2000 season.
Despite not scoring for the Kingz, he had been quite a regular goal scorer for NAC Breda and Willem II in the Eredivisie in the 1990's and had played two seasons for Toulon in Ligue 1.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lammers_(footballer)
Lammers gained promotion for Heracles Almelo to the Dutch top flight, the Eredivisie in his first season in charge last season.
Three games into the new Eredivisie season, Heracles sit seventh on the table after two wins and one loss (away to Ajax) but having played one game less than some teams above them (three points in that extra game would see them leap-frog Feyenoord into fourth and equal on points with the top three sides).

Lammers is now 59 and has been quite late and slow in building a coaching career.
https://www.transfermarkt.com/john-lammers/profil/trainer/19477
On retiring from playing after his short stint with the Football Kingz in 2000, Lammers initially became head of the Dutch PFA for some years.
From 2009 he had short stints as assistant or in charge of Dutch second tier sides and two seasons in charge of Esbjerg in Denmark.
But nothing that would grab your attention until his dramatic success in recent seasons with Heracles.

Have been following a bit of Durante in the build up to this and some of the facilities over that part of the world look brilliant.

Not sure if it's the monsoon season or not either, but the torrential downpours are something else too!
