1-0 Phoenix.

Mully hits the cross bar from a free kick. Couple of minutes later he (Robb doesn't have glasses but is fairly certain it was him) scores. Apparently played a DM role.

"No numbers and many ringers, Crowther is goal, Manny in CB for 2nd half but started at LB, Costa up front."

Also, obv. DM is Mully.

Now getting a text thru saying Marco is at CM.

Ricki should start Mulligan, we need goals and he might just be the attacking outlet we need.

oooooooooooo yay mulligan scores - in a midweek runaround and you all love him! he'll never make the grade of a-league. He shouldn't really be in the all whites.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Mulligan is a better player than the majority think...

Notes.

- Tim Schaeffers replaced Treadway after 15 or so.
- Jamie Duncan pulled up lame, replaced by Adam Birch.
- Party all the time goes in hardish on Birch.  Recieved red card from unnamed ref.  Pretty unlucky.  At best a foul and yellow.  Maybe not even yellow.  Taylor Hall-Jones replaces PATT.
- Straight after Costa and Chris Davies have a disagreement and unnamed referee calls the half in the hope they will calm down.
- McPeake in goal for Bannatyne.
- Louis Fenton on for Chen.
- Bryan Little on for Darren Cheriton.
- Justin Gulley on for Adrian Caceras.
- Jyler Noviello and Richie McLay on for Draper and Brown.
- Lad Milne from Petone on for Diego.  Forgotten the name.
- Mully free kick over wall and clips the cross bar on the right and over.
- Mully scores with a volley just outside the area.  Nix 1-0.  Around 70 minutes in.
- 1-1 Noviello.  McLay put's Barron through on the right, great cross for Noviello to score.
- Costa makes it 2-1.
- Treadaway back on for Schaeffers at right back.
-  Davies stitches up Treadaway and crosses for Barron to make it 2-2.

Phoenix dominated the first chunk of both halves with Team Wellington coming back in to it later in the halves.  Once they went behind Barron moved further forward and took control for them.

Wusa, a young centre back from Wanganui was pretty good at centre back for the Phoenix as was Karl Whalen.  Justin Gulley pretty decent as well (plus Marco and Mully, and party all the time before his 'incident').  Crowther pulled off some good saves as well.

TeeDubs - Barron.
Noviello looked impressive when he came on.
All round Exodus Yellow Fever TeeDubs looking promising.

Halifax released Smeltz... didn't exactly hinder him.

If he was given a run of games, he would be the top young goalkeeper in the league. Fact.

How many games did Mulligan get? I only remember 2, maybe 3. One of them being that horrendous 3-0 loss to Adelaide where we played with less heart than GCU did on Sunday. Can't remember to others, seems to like his lack of quality in games like tonight has counted against him.

If he did well enough in training do you not think Ricky would at least give him some game time from the bench??

He is not even making the bench, nuff said!

Yeah, 3 games...

0-3 v Adelaide (away)
0-0 v CCM (home)
0-1 v Perth (away)

....and never sighted in a Phoenix matchday squad since.

Those Adelaide and Perth games bought me the closest I have ever come to walking away from the Nix, seem to remember at the time people thought Daniel was made the scapegoat but those statistics would seem to suggest Mully was.

As you are demonstrating PVFC, football is a game of opinions. Just because Ricki's opinion is that he is not good enough to make the squad does not make him a bad player. Having trained with him, he has stood out in training in my eyes. Still, it is only my opinion.

Mully is decent in the middle actually. Just don't put him at right back I guess.

I am not saying he is a bad player and may be a good person to train with but I dont feel he is up to the standard of this league.

Half the Phoenix squad are not in the All Whites.

I have often wondered why Ricky puts him in the All Whites but never gives him game time for the Phoenix.

Well Manny came and grabbed his opportunity with both hands. Worried about Hearfield being persistently tried at right back.

Ferrante must be bossing at training to keep Mulligan out...and in all fairness his attitude on the field wasn't great either of those days. And where would we legitimately stick him in the midfield? Ahead of...?

"No numbers and many ringers, Crowther is goal, Manny in CB for 2nd half but started at LB, Costa up front."

Also, obv. DM is Mully.

Now getting a text thru saying Marco is at CM.
Robb's updates = failure.

Getting new glasses sometime this week (lost the old pair...which pisses me off because the frames were black and yellow!)
