Has to be Ifill's. The timing of that goal was perfect.

I love Ifill's because of the context of that game - he had tried so hard for 105 minutes and was absolutely out on his feet but somehow found another gear and was the reason we went through. Brilliant.

Felipe's stands out because it was the first real goal from us where I felt I could say it was 'great' and not just bundled in.

Big fan of Rojas' goal here:

And Smeltz' here against Melbourne too

Also the goal where Kosta back-heeled but can't find the video anywhere. Brockie with a few screamers this year too ( 2x Melbourne and the 1 against Brisbane too)

Eugene Dadi gets the vote for most spectacular debut. Still remember that game. Too bad it all came crashing down at Perth.. Still loved the guy, though.

The Smeltz goal the night we beat Melbourne at home and moved into the Top 4 for the first time, special night.

The Ifill one that sticks in the mind for me was a left foot curler with the outside of his boot at RoF. Brilliant goal. Think it was against Perth but I can't be sure.

Manny's first ever was a corker too.

Good hangover recovery thread, cheers guys! A few beauts in there! And classic commentary from Harry Ngata "MacAllister rising like a salmon at the far post".

As for fav goals.... agreed hamzilla, Siggy in chch was special and Ifill in extra time against Newcastle for crowd eruption. Oh and all the pens v glory hole!

Tim Brown against the Victory

Had this game on the big screen over the internet with my last class on a Friday- 35 11 and 12 year old Korean kids. I made learning all the YF chants their lesson for the day, and then the Victory scored and it was grumpy teacher until...

Brown equalised and I went a bit nuts and it was great. good technique, strange bounce goal finish. Smeltzy's goal for the winner was the absolute classic, but I like this equaliser. Wonder if Ernie remembers that day??

Manny's goals were great, and Felipe's goal was a real statement of intent from the club and the moment I started believing. Think Brown also put one away, in that game? or there was one against Sydney at some point that season. Class and accuracy.

Ifill,  Smeltz and Brockie have so many it's hard to pick out one. Though Daniel/Lochy and a headed Smeltz finish seemed like signature 'Nix from early on. Louis' goal would be more classic for me if it had been like Felipe's and been indicative of the intent for the club and season, not just a flash in the pan. Still it was a great first game.

and Siggie in CHCH, another really solid memory. Lucky head bandage!

Smeltz's goal from that same game - what a fantastic first touch, and great last one to move away from the defender before placing the ball perfectly in the top corner from distance.

my main memory from that day was watching brownlie's shot hit the inside of the post at the death, with the scores at 2-2. We were perfectly in line with it in the fever zone and I thought it was going in, jumped up in celebration, rolled my ankle on the step when I came down (luckily I can't jump, so 'came down' equates to about 10cm), fell on the ground, no goal, absolutely crushing

indeed we were, right in line with it. was mental.

that miss destroyed brownlie as well (so the theory goes)

I must say that game is my crutch when my teams are losing and I'm in a pit of despair.

I always repeat to my self "first ever nix game, 2-0 down with 11 to go, scored twice and hit the post with the winner, it can be done, it can be done, it can be done, it can be done..."

Can't remember who scored it- think it was Iffy- but the Kosta-Greenie-Iffy  one touch passing move was some gorgeous football too.
