Was just wondering if any of you have had any of the promised emails from the club during the season.I realise its only minor but if you take a look at some of the supposed benefits of becoming a member it does seem as if the club hasnt delivered on some them. Before some of you get to defensive yes i do realise its all started from scratch, but it does seem as if we paid our money and thats us forgotton about till it comes time to renew them next season. And yes i will be doing that.

Was i expecting to much or is that just standard practice when you pay season membership to a club such as the Phoenix.

yea i made a post about this a couple of weeks ago. just a few little things would have been nice, the only members even i can think of is the shirt sale at the shop before other punters. heres an example of a little thing, my brother is a west tigers season pass holder in oz, well he has bought one for season 08. but the tigers sent him a xmas card signed by the ceo and coach and a few of the players. i presume different players signed different cards.
i guess that they are in the off season and can have that time but it is a nice touch that cant have been much effort and would spread good will.
little things like this do alot, hopefully the nix will pick up in this regard next year when i will certainly be renewing my ticket.

fair point Ballane,

generally the club has been excellent in terms of responding to the fans but i agree, if it says (additional) benefits (particularly if they've been specified!) then there should be some

like the xmas card idea Bopman -that would be primo

Yeah I realise that some of things may have been said with good intentions and it will not stop me from becoming a member next season. Only reason i bring it up is i have had it mentioned to me by a friend who took membership and they are very disappointed that the only email they have got from the club was the one about allowing them to email them and no they didnt say not to. As you say the only other thing they have done was the shop opening.Yes they did the open day at the stadium but that was not members only.
Havnt heard anything about voting in the player of the season guess that could still be coming.

We got an email about the Beckham game, and other member-only things. As well as the normal press coverage.

When i finally bought my season pass, got all the freebies promised, inagraul badge etc, thought it was cool, like the xmas card idea though!

Slightly off topic, but has anyone heard when we'll be able to apply for our season tickets?

Hard News and I were having a chat with a couple of other lads last Friday at the Heineken Bar and got talking abut getting together and organizing what rows and seats we want so the core supporters are all in a tight bunch.

Any thoughts?

Thats a great idea. I'm sick of having to sneak in and being stuck with people only in the zone to be drunk and shout obscenities.

I think the club might (and should) send letters or cards thanking us for our support in the first season. Seems the kinda thing T&T would do.

i have enjoyed this season, when i got my season pass i had to wait about 1 month before i got my goodies.

one of the thing was "meet the players" and first refusal on finals tickets if we had made it. i asked to sign up for emails and i have only had 2 emails, 1 saying welcome to the phoenix and the other one was a members pre-sale info on the beckham tix but had nothing since!

when can we renew our seats, i want to renew my seat and buy another season pass as a birthday gift as well.

has the club announced when we can purchase our seats or will we get a letter or email to our registered addresses?

when the seats open up for next season I rthinkn I'll move slightly closer to the zone, don't want to be in it, just close enough to be involved and still be able to sit during the quiet times.

Hey, quick questions re: season passes.

Do we buy them from ticketek? And when can you buy them?

Do you need to apply and they send a flashy card out with your name and seat info, and can you do it online?

From memory, I think the word was that season passes for the next season will first go on sale to season ticket holders from this season (ie. there'll be a communication from the club asking if you'd want to renew your membership for the upcoming season), and I believe this is supposed to happen on around 1 March or thereabouts.

brilliant idea i reckon, i'd rather loose my voice in the company of other football nuts, than to be next to people who are in the process of losing their lunch or to be the only one standing and shouting

core supporters... ?

which is it?
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I would class anyone who posts regularly on here, or is a season ticket holder that attends all the home games as a "core" supporter.

Yeah yeah so maybe it wasn't the best choice of word but you know what I mean.

so is the possibility of unallocated seating in the Fever Zone off the table now then? understood from previous threads that it was one of the options the club were looking at (I emailed the club and asked but no reply as yet....)vickmeist2008-01-18 10:57:12

Emails from the Phoenix to season ticket holders?

Those of us who bought our season tickets on line gave our email addresses to Ticketek. There was an email alert sign-up button for anyone who visited the club site (which is just a poor A-League run site).

When has there been a collection by the club of season ticket holder email addresses? Did I miss it?

And while you're there ask when new season ticket sales begin... though I think it will be a few months away yet. Probably around May, give or take a few weeks.

That would be me who started it unfortunately like many threads it has gone off topic  quickly. The only mention i made of season tickets was that i would purchase one when they come out.
I would think you cant get next season ones until at least the FFA have decided if there will be any expansion and a draw has been made.

Not sure how many but read yesterday that Townsville seem to be close to meeting all the requirments and they even have a Marque player already lined up.Dont think they have said how many may be added.

I don't think the expansion is for 2008/09 is it? I thought it was for the 2009/10 season? I could be wrong - anyone? We've proved it can be done at short notice so I guess it could happen for next season.

I think the plan is to expand to 10. Northern Thunder is one - is that in Townsville? Gold Coast and Wollongong are also bidding and Canberra are thinking about it.

Hang on, just found this article:

Some excerpts:

Two new teams are set to score in next years A-league, one based on the Gold Coast, the other in Townsville. Both bids have matured and are awaiting approval from Football Federation Australia before being granted a license in an expanded A-league competition.
...
The Gold Coast, a tourist icon of Australias beach culture and as of next season a place in a newly expanded A-league awaits them. Enter the Gold Coast Galaxys bid for an A-league license, which has attracted some well known figures throughout Australian football.
...
Further north is Townsville, the heart of Tropical Queensland. The Cowboys (NRL) are the premier sporting franchise of Northern Queensland but they may soon be challenged - by the Northern Thunder. Next week, the club will be submitting financial guarantees to the FFA. Expected to be named as coach is former New Zealand and Werder Bremen legend Wynton Rufur, a hugely respected figure regarded as one of the best ever.

Cant find the article i read yesterday but Townsville are keen to get under way for next season, cant remeber what they are called but they must have things well in hand if they already have a marque player sorted.

Tried to PM you Feverish but your in box is chokka,

just wondering how this from the club site affects the cunning plan noted above?

"Members will have the exclusive right to renew their same seat for season two. We will be in touch in the not too distant future."

I want to renew my season ticket but not in the current seats. They're in the zone, but too near the front. I'll be looking to get season tickets around the spot that I actually stood for most of the games (as I was able to participate in and start chants from there).... assuming there are any left as I guess I will have to wait for them to go on general sale.
