This x1000.

I'd have thought that a big part of making the Zone better would be to address reasons why things hadn't gone so well the last couple of seasons.

I agree. But, the problem is, that if we just keep posting about whats wrong, we could have hundreds of posts without any solutions. Lets focus on the  positive, rather than the negative.

I believe that the thing that has been lacking over the past couple of years is your alter ego.

Kiwi Hatter is on the money.

Let's keep this thread upbeat aye. As said by someone famous lately: haters are like crickets, they chirp all day long...

Things that will make the Zone BETTER. Go.

Ballane's really only asking how to get new chants to catch on a bit quicker. I thought that chants was part of what Fever 101 was going to cover, so that should help. The only problem with the Chants thread is that there's so many ideas in there that never took off so it's a bit hard to find a chant you might have only just heard (although if someone comes up with a good one at the game and someone chucks it straight in the Chants thread it would be good). The other suggestion is to put new chants out on the YF twitter feed (which can happen almost instantaneously).

And if you have a few people in the Zone with smart phones, the words are right there Term. Boom. Winner of an idea!

We could even get an Apple TV and AirPlay the words to the stadium big screen!

If I didn't have so little faith in my fellow human beings I would suggest having a game-day Twitter hashtag showing on the big-screen at half-time or something. That would be an ideal way to share any new chants and a few witty observations about the game. Of course we all know what would actually happen.

people would spend the whole game playing on their phones as opposed to watching the football/chanting/etc?

and who is going to be the poor mug that has spend large portions of the game typing out lyrics to chants?

Someone who hadn't spent large portions of the game typing out lyrics to chants: "wow, did you see that 2nd goal?"

Poor mug that spent large portions of the game typing out lyrics to chants: "no, I was typing 'Who Are Ya' 20 times on Twitter cause some weapon couldn't work out what we were saying and was too scared to ask the nearest person to him"

LOL, ummm, duh, like maybe do it at half-time or something? OMG, SMH!

Put forward your most constructivist of suggestions so someone else can highlight the flaws... therein lies the issue.

There is no "magic bullet" - the solutions are a combination of many of the things people have suggested over the last week or two, to varying degrees. Different people will be attracted/distracted by different things, we need to do the many to get through to the most.

It's not a matter of expecting someone to come up with the golden idea/strategy/solution, there isn't one... we need to do more of everything then we'll get an idea of what people are engaging with (or not).

I'd just like to endorse the use of the word "weapon" in a derogatory sense.

I know that people have already mentioned that they don't particularly like the link between alcohol and the zone (ie need to be into one to be into the other) but do we still have drink and/or food deals before the games?  People love a bargin

Yeah we do. Always specials on at the BB, including cheap drinkies and BBQ.

that is good then.

Can we work with the stadium to get half priced turbo shandies during the match?  That would bring in the punters.

I would say create competition, dont split it as say but have two sections not to far apart competing for atmosphere.

Why not have a Wellington's got football chant talent night!

Invite everyone done to the BB that has a idea, get them to pitch the song - Whittle it down to a top 10, put the top 10 on the webiste with the lyrics and youtube of the tune and have a vote on the forum.

The top 3 join the classics on a Fever 101 chants thread

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

The Barmy Army have a window during test matches every now and then where people get up and sing their new songs. Some stick, many don't but it's also quite a laugh.

I instantly thought of the Breakfast Club where John Bender goes running through the hallways yelling "I WANNA BE AN AIRBORNE RANGER.. "

I reckon there is a chant in there somewhere (not necessarily incorporating airborne rangers, sex or danger though"

Any plans for a Feverzone season launch? With no pre-season games at the stadium, maybe it would be a good to have a get together before the season starts.

That is a bloody good idea.
I'm keen. Do you fancy helping to organise? If so flick me an email at smithy@yellowfever.co.nz and perhaps we can Stop. Collaborate. And listen.

That is pretty much what I was thinking, just didn't know the date. Been waiting for the latest in The Nix to arrive in my inbox with the details.

I'm happy to help out, just dunno what I can add tho.

Details for the Intra-squad game:

When: Sunday 6 October, 2013. 2.00pm kick off
Where: Westpac Stadium.
Getting in: Gates open at 1.30pm. Show your 2013/14 Membership card or proof of purchase to enter the Stadium.

So doing something before this would be ideal.

So modest! Nothing fancy - just catering for 3000 people and organising transport for everyone. Also, name tags.
I like tautologies because I like them.
