Might be better off in the chants section but...

Standing near-ish to the front of the zone in aisle 21 as couldnt get better tickets and had some dick heads telling me to sit down all game! This has been happening a bit recently and thought I might pick your brains on how to tell em to bugger off without ruining their night haha!

Ticketek should put a note in, when you click on yellow fever zone tickets, saying "people stand up during the game in this area, are you sure you want to purchase tickets in this area". Then they would have to have read the note and click on yes to continue.

Happened for the Paraguay match too, thankfully however the Wellington security staff knew what to do.

tpmyhill - tell a security guard. You've paid for the right to stand in the standing section. The guards should stick up for you.

It is easy. You simply smile and then explain the position to them.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

That isn't usually easy. People don't like other people making more sense than them.

Offer to swap seats with them so they are sat in front? Could be a laugh 'cos everyone would do this until they were sat on the grass, then ejected

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

&/Or hit them with "Dont disrespect my culture" worked a trick at AW vs Bahrain.

Pretty simple solution is for Ticketek to say Fever Zone = Standing. Easy.

Might take the club to step-in for that to happen. It's ridiculous because it's not like there are no seats available further round where the whole crowd is sitting.

I get the feeling that some people who aren't regulars, hear about how cool the YF section is and dont really know the 'code of conduct'

To the tune of "Go West" though please.

Seriously, are you muppets ever going to get this right?

If not, please just stop doing it.

Perhaps they could play it [Go West] during half-time one day, just so people get the idea. It would have been perfect yesterday given the "campness" of the half-time entertainment.

I'm slightly disappointed!

I tried  it at Team Wellington once in an attempt to prepare people for the Phoenix and got harrassed for it.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Observations over the last two seasons.

Aisle 23 - can just make out the go west tune but rather patchy
Aisle 24 - forget it - already just people clapping.
Aisle 22 - pretty easy to follow
Aisle 19 - not too bad

Anything else - rubbish.

So which one of the Pet Shops boys were you? The one who preferred hamsters or the one who preferred the guinea pigs

It's a shambles. Always has been.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

LOL. Great stuff.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Not remembering either version of said 'Go West' song, so will look it up later for reference.

In regards to people abusing you for standing in the Fever Zone, tell the security to get them moved.
You're entitled to watch the football in peace.

Or you could do what I did to the security guard lady in pre-season Hamilton, point at them and start chanting "We stand up at the football" until they get the point (people usually join in).Ard Righ2011-02-14 14:21:30

Does it matter? It gets done the way it gets done. Just because you think it should be done a different way, you're apparently in the minority so get over it...this isn't MMP

...and you are obviously one of those unfortunate tone deaf creatures who can't master the tune but, as you apparently are the majority, I'm not allowed to talk about it. That the deal?

I heard the chant 'where were you when we were sh1t'.

I tried to chant back 'I'm only here cos i got free tickets cos i have two small kids who take all my money'......but it never got going.

but other wise, some pretty good noise coming out of the the YF (I was in Aisle 26).

1 question though, am not sure why 'Oh wellington, is wonderful' never seems to last more than 2 or 3 times??? Any thoughts? it always takes a couple of verses for other aisle4s to get into it, then by the time they get going its stopped.

'the tune' is how you think it should go. A majority of people obviously do it differently. Does it really matter?

Re: Where were you when we were sh*t - I know it's probably been discussed somewhere else and I know that this is all in jest BUT perhaps there is a better way to encourage people to come back and spend money on the Nix/help Terry/IRD out. No good in shaming a new comer because they've turned up to watch, what turned out to be, a fantastic final home game.
Even a "We'll see you here next week" to "you've only got one song" could be an option.
Thoughts?
