Fred confirmed as signing for the new Philidelphia Union FC franchise in the MLS.  Chosen because of his experience with DC United and in the A League.

We are still missing an attacking central midfielder. The closest we have is Brown or Diego. I think that the way we are playing now - with basically 3 DM's and then Leo, Ifill, Dadi, Hearfield and Lochy being the main attacking players is working though.

I would say Brown has been the attacking midfeilder. He is always in the box and then gets back again. Last night i saw him run from half way all the back to a vacant right back area. Did very well. Without being biased

The A-league could have kept him, but word is that Geoff Lord didn't want to pay Fred an extra $40,000 per season when he was at Melbourne. How silly is that, especially considering he was on $80,000 per year at the time.

Lord learnt a big lesson after that. The supporters in Melbourne are still livid with him over this. (Carlos is good, but it was naive from the MVFC owner back then).
