Right - the season is due to start, and in the great Blue Peter time capsule tradition, lets all get get our balls out (and that includes lady balls - ie boobs) and predict where we will finish this season. At the end of the regular season we can look back on this and a small number of us will be able to say "I was right, I know more about football than the rest of you"

In the UK it is not yet 10am and I have already been called "excessively cynical" by a work colleague, and that is reflected in my prediction. I don't think we have a strong enough squad, and I cannot see any players we bring on board between now and Jan changing that significantly. For that reason, I am predicting we finish the regular season in 8th place.

whole table? I am not sure I can name the 10 teams in the competition, but here we go:

And Tigers - I am refusing to do any work today on account of already having completed my 16 hours for the week by midday yesterday. Any job expecting more than 16 hours effort from me a week can go hang.

think our home form is gonna count for something.

Also feel it is the year for guys like Lia and Muscat to really start controlling games and getting goals to their names. Both are getting to the age where they should start peaking whereas a lot of the rest of the squad are a lot nearer 30 or past it.

This thread should be considered entrapment.

A place for all the non-believers to publicly admit their treachery so that they can be rounded up and put to the sword. A place to name and shame those whose negativity and pessimism sucks the life-force from our club and creates a self-perpetuating downward spiral of doom.

Friends, lift your faces to the sun. The Phoenix will win the A-League. I believe this in my heart and will not surrender this belief until I actually witness the trophy being handed over to someone other than Andrew Durante. Even then I will remain sceptical that I might be subject to some kind of elaborate Capricorn One-style conspiracy to deny us the truth.

If we make a decent signing (marquee and/or proven talent) before the current window closes then maybe 5th, if we don't in this window but do in the january one then 6th, if we don't strengthen the squad at all then it will be a wooden spoon dogfight between us GCU and Jets, so I'll take the average of them and say 9th.

With the two exceptions of Adelaide and Melbourne Victory, most of us have done fairly well in predicting it. I do notice that most of us predicted CCM in 4th or so though.
