Giving Away Tickets For Palmerston And CHCH

GET YOUR SHIRTS OFF FOR THE BOYS

Just wondered if there is any way we could coordinate this for those members not attending these games who may wish to give their tickets away.

May not be worth the hassle but thought it may be way of actually getting some bums on seats.

Was planning on buying a Christchurch ticket but would accept a free one.

In all honesty it'd be better to give it to someone else but if you insist I'll take it.

Easy with the Palmy game especially because all the "seating" is GA.  Not allocated.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I reckon give them to some guys on here who will still buy their own, but find a doubter or poor sod to take and hopefully get them into it

I am not sure I'll make it to the CHCH game, but I've got someone I can give that ticket to already. And I've got tickets for Palmy.

But nice idea, I think there will be a decent number of members who won't make it to CHCH.

Will definitely be in Palmy, hopefully in Christchurch, don't need any free tickets though.

Just bought my tickets for palmy game and according to the pax number 2324 tickets sold, anyone know what the capacity is at palmy.

got the tickets from ticketek, they wouldn't let me use my entertainment voucher and get 50% off they said only for westpac games!! They reckon its not classed as a home game.

The Palmy game is a bit cheaper than the RoF games.  Come to the next RoF game and use the voucher then.

I assume home-of-wards-beer@Lancaster_Park/Jade/AMI_stadium will still be under construction on 30 Jan.  What is the capacity these days?

Still over 20k I think man, they wanted a big number for the NPC final didn't they...

But I'm sure I saw new seats put in when I watched that yawnfest (actually not a bad game for rugby standards but still a yawn), so I can't imagine that it would be too far away.

The new stand (if that's what you are talking about) is open for the first time for this Phoenix match.  So capacity must be around 35 or so?

There is great mileage winding up Canty rugby fans saying that the first game the new stadium sees is a football one.

That is indeed what I was referring to. Thanks for clearing that up.

Haha will Robbie Deans be there to open it at the Phoenix? How wonderful that would be.

When is Palmy? Off to look for myself now.

Hmm, can't do Palmy either. 2010/2011.

Depends on when you are travelling it Michael.  You should be fine to allow 90-100 minutes.

If you were driving back on a Sunday afternoone 2.5 hours plus.  Bloody Otaki roundabout.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Permalink Permalink

Depends on if you drive like Lundy or not.

Allow 2 hours because you need to go through a few towns on the way.  If it's light traffic and no hold ups a good run will do it in 1:50, but 2 hours is realistic.

Also if you are not familiar with the route, the better way would be to turn off before Levin and go round the back VIA OPIKI.  That gives you some good long stretches of road without too much traffic and then you come out on the right side of town for the stadium.

if you don't turn off to Opiki you end up coming through Massey Uni at the back of Palmy.

The time would be Saturday evening for the Nix. From the sounds of it, the best case scenario for me is about a half-time arrival.... so, treat it like any away game and watch all of it on television or take on a 4 hour round trip for the the last 30 to 45 minutes in person?

Possibly not light with all the travelling fans. Also a lot coming from Napier too. probably fans from New Plymouth, Wanganui as well.Finding a car park could be a pain.

Recommend leaving Welly at 3pm and getting early to enjoy some of the local bars/food type places.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Can someone tell me what the hap is with the fever plans?

I've got no transport, so is there a bus going up? Or is there any chance someone can give me a lift - would be more than happy to pay for fuel.

Yep good call LG.

We're heading up early to catch up with friends and old workmates before the game. Overnight then a bit of shopping (Ezibuy main store at Palmy)/visit Te Manawa (mini version of Te Papa) and unhurried trip back down.

Some good eating places around the Square & George St.

Can also drive up to the first wind farm (with the smaller turbines) on Sunday if so inclined.

I have an eight seater vehicle leaving the Ed Bar in Newtown on Saturday afternoon if any one fancies it ,coming back the  the next day ,I haven't sorted out accommodation yet but I cant see that being a problem! depending on numbers should be about $15 for the van each plus share  share gas costs. pm me if your interested!

you might want to check that - large rooms are a bit scarce in motels for 12 Dec as of a week or so ago.

Does that mean you're withdrawing from Summer League that day?
