Harnwell with a straight red card. Tough call

easiest call of that referee's career IMO.  Straight red, no doubt whatsoever.

Good win
From a refereeing point of view, spot on with both red cards.
Smeltzy, great goalscorer but he's got the touch of an elephant sometimes
Thought Lia had a great game
IMO another disappointing performance by Elrich

Great result.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Smeltz brace the first time a Phoenix player has scored twice in a A league match.

Awesome game to watch. Yellow Fever boys once again were very LOUD!! Loved the Who are yas to Bertos.
Lochead had a superb game at left mid, shame he isn't just a bit taller. Needs to stay there.
Lia had a blinder too; that cross to Smeltz was of Becham quality!
Elrich good runs.
Wtf was Old up to when he tackled the keeper!? the ball had aleady gone in.
Covz and Smeltz excellent together.
Moss had great game to especially saving the thumping strike of Bertos.
As for Perth well never looked like winning; our boys should some discipline today.
They should be proud.

Can't wait till next weekend, flying over and going straight to the Phoenix shop to get a Retro Ricki then into town for Queensland game.

Lets hope we can continue our winning way

Big ups to YF and the Fever Zone. Sounded huge on the box. You know you're doing something right when the Perth Assistant Coach got interviewed at half-time and he talked about pinching a goal to hopefully quiet the crowd down.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Just 'cos I'm sad, I started to count the amount of times his early crosses didn't clear the first defender, I gave up counting after a dozen. Even old Harry and Fred were urging him to have a run at the full back. Just doesn't seem to have the confidence to take his defender on.
I don't doubt he's got the ability, he just doesn't seem to be using it.

Mind you, the FZ looked like a very big butcher's window in the last 10 minutes

I know I should be elated after that performance but it still worries me that we lacked a lot of composure when we were playing against 10 men. Elrich, once again, was terrible and never really took defenders on (even when the person marking him got sent off!!!).

Oh well, a 3-0 win is a 3-0 win.

Pluses: great result and great atomosphere.  First time in ten games we've managed more than one goal.

Worries:  Defence back to its suspect worst tonight.  Perth hit woodwork twice in first half, even if one was from that daft freekick.  First 20 minutes of second half they dominated with 10 men, and we looked pretty dreadful, except for normal Moss miracles.  After Smeltz' second no problems.

Twice? I only saw once from that free kick, when was the other one?

My thoughts entirely.  Actually thought we played much better vs Adelaide.

The other time they hit the post was the cross to the back post in the first half that Moss missed Auckland Jag2007-12-07 21:50:52

I just would've hoped that we had learnt something about playing against 10 men after 4 weeks of it but they showed that they hadn't. I don't mind making mistakes this year as long as we build from them and imo we're having trouble doing so.

Still happy with the win but Perth is pretty much our bunny team anyway :P

3-0!!! GREAT RESULT LADS WHAT A BUZZ THAT HAS GIVEN ME!!!

Great work rate from captain Covs he played his heart out tonight, and I thought Elrich really stepped it up and both Lia and Felipe weren't bad either. Mossy played well too made the saves when needed and back four looked good perhaps some dicey moments but hey only our 2nd clean sheet of the season it's not to be scoffed at.

I  SHANE SMELTZ!!! Think that sums up who i thought was man of the match!!! Shane your a bloody legend mate, equal top scorer in the A-League and you totally deserve it, in fact you should be alone top scorer that prick Griffiths has nothing on you mate!!!

CMON THE NIX!!!!

Reckon we'll be able to pull off an upset over Queensland?

We'll definitely need 4 at the back to cover Zullo, Kruse, and Haynaldo up front
