Yes bang on Feverish! The Adelaide game is massive for us.  We MUST win, so the lads will really need the support of a hopefully big crowd.  That will set things up nicely for a third win over Perth and I would just love us to burst Queensland's bubble too!!!!!  The Golden balls show is nothing more than an interesting sideshow compared to our mission in the A League!!! Go the Nix!!!!!

That's a shame

Hope you get your win...against Melbourne. As for Friday's match (which definatly >Galaxy IMHO), you might need it more but there's no way on earth we don't want it more. Best of luck eh?

More seriously, we shouldn't totally give up on top 4 just yet.  Assuming Mariners and Queensland take two spots, to get there we would need to overhaul three of Adelaide, Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne.  Adelaide lead this group and are six points ahead of Phoenix.  Win, and they are 3 pts ahead with six games to play.  Achievable.  Otherwise it really is a long shot.

So Feverish is right, massive game.

I came down for the last Adelaide game.  Frankly we were lucky to get 2-2.  Could have been 0-3 at halftime.  Adelaide midfield had so much more time on the ball.  Fortunately, Bajic, their keeper, looked shakey.  You should have seen the stick he got on the Adelaide forum afterwards, and I don't think he has been first choice since.

However, you'd also have to say the Phoenix now look a much more balanced side.  If Rees can shore up defence, and with Elrich to give penetration down both flanks rather than just down left, stringing together a few wins is not impossible.  Plus AW games behind us.  I also suspect Phoenix are one of the few teams with a complete squad to choose from at present - Adelaide will be weaker than last time.

Can't wait.

Spot on.  Friday night is a huge game.  If both the Phoenix and the Roar win (the two home teams on Frday night), then we are only 3 points off the play-offs.  3  points and 6 games to go.

And then with two homes games in a row to follow.

Keep the faith, because we are still right in it!

And we will still have time to party on Saturday night .

Friday night is indeed HUGE.

I know, I know, its serious!

Yep, the Adelaide game is what's important this weekend. The Beckham game is a mere sideshow as far as I'm concerned, though I'm still going to both.

Absolutely - Friday is THE game, Saturday is a party - just like the sevens - you don't go for the rugby, you go for the party.

We need to win on Friday FULL STOP. With a big crowd behind us, we should do that. then we have two more home games to drive it home - 3 games, 9 points

Having said that -I am off to the Saturday "event" too, and am looking forward to it.

Tonight, in a pizza place in the Hutt, I heard two people talking about Phoenix. So I eavesdropped.  They were both talking about "the match". Both describing their "feeling nervous" and "crowd should be big" and "can't wait for it" then I realised they were talking about FRIDAY!!!   YES!!  That's the attitude!!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

YES!! as you say this town is getting the Phoenix attitude!!

Beckham lifts the profile, which gives the club and us a huge opportunity to push the drug that is A=League football

I have a great feeling about Friday night......just think we've turned the corner this season with Elrich and Rees coming in, Lia starting to find form and we are long overdue a beauty from Daniel and Felipe.....imagine when they all fire on Friday night and link magically with Smeltz, Brown etc.....

I feel a repeat of the treat that was watching us against Perth at home........

FOUR ONE....TOOOO THE PHOEEEE-NIIIIX

I think the players are in for a good surprise. A large crowd and a lot of noise! Hopefully enough to lift them on a higher plane. I hope too that the "extra" fans take the chance to join in with the singing!

I can't wait till I'm on the plane Friday afternoon, from Rotorua. We're goona beat Adelaide. Old Jonas prob aint playing either for them, so thats a shame. He was a favourite son at the Knights.

Like Lonegunmen we've only got tickets for the Friday "proper" game - went and got them today in fact. Mainly because we can't afford the Galaxy prices ($50 all in for a family ticket for all of us to go on Friday, as opposed to $215 odd for Galaxy + Adelaide - no contest!), but also because as an Englishman not long arrived here, exhibition games in football have never even entered my thinking (apart from being aware than Man Utd/Chelsea etc play them for money in Asia/USA etc in the off season - and I've always wondered why anyone goes to the games!). Maybe the Harlem Globetrotters made sense but ... (showing my age there!)

Anyway here's hoping that a good number of the "virgins" who've got tickets for Friday thrown in with their Galaxy ticket actually come on Friday - it would be great to see a really big crowd for a real game, even if they're a bit quiet!

Looking forward to a great night - Go go the Nix!

PS will still watch the Galaxy game on TV, so make a lot of noise lads (and lasses)!

This has got to be a great chance to spread the singing round the ground.  With so many Fever members not going to be able to get into 21 there should be singing everywhere!

Oh Wellington is pretty famous now...Keep that going for a while and the rest of the crowd should join in..And Ricki Herberts Yellow Army...You can't get much easier than that.

Come on Phoenix!

Yes to that!!!!
If we can the whole place roaring it will be the best way to begin the run to the top four!

Of course we've remembered Friday night.  Out shopping for the new LA Galaxy gear for Saturday, flash haircut, new tattoo, shopping with the Mrs for her outfit, charge up the camera and cell phone, last minute session on the sun bed, buy prawns for the sandwich.  How silly do you think we are that we'd forget last minute preparations on Friday for the big game against LA?

Had to go the Hutt this morning. Took the bus. Two girls from Sacred Heart College were talking football. One was going to both of this weekend's games. The other was only going to one... Friday.

The BOTH ticket holder made my day, though, when she said "if we don't win on Friday I won't enjoy Saturday one bit..."

Yep looking forward to the Adelaide game it should be a good competitive game albeit in a somewhat surreal environment due to the fact that we are playing a friendly the next day,i'm sure this must be a first of some sort?
I'm not  going to the other game as its not really my thing so i will be giving my ticket away tomorrow!
