.... That Paston should never play in goal when Moss is fit ever again.

If Mossy was on he wouldn't have hesitated as Paston did and got to that first ball of Beckhams and saved the goal.
He would have read Beckhams amazingly good passes a lot better imo
It was a shame that Mossy didn't get a half as well as Lochead or Brown.

Brownie will be gutted he didnt get on. We would have won with Mossy in there.

i loved the chant "weve got the best keeper on the bench" that is soo true, paston has played 2 games for the nix now and conceded 8!!

Paston played well at the start I thought but seemed to get shakier as the game progressed.

I am really surprised Ricki didn't rotate at least once in goal.

Hey you all know my thoughts on Paston but I would have thought Moss would have been rewarded for his efforts by given half a game against Becks, something he could have looked back on in his old age.

Paston needs a run. But hey even though mossys a better keeper in my eyes paston hasnt had much game time anyway during the season.

To be honest, I'd rather see Spoonley be given a chance to be our backup over Paston. I've seen Pastion play five times this year and he hasn't overly impressed me once.

I thought Paston should have saved the 2nd goal, I think it was. He was left stranded.

I pretty sure that when the penalty was about to be taken, the ground commentator said over the loud speakers "and its Beckham against Moss".  So was he plain wrong?

was it saved? No. Therefore it was not Moss

Yes. Yes he was.

Three for me, and two for them.

Paston has some serious flaws I think. He sometimes seems to get himself stuck in nomans land and gets bypassed very easily, and his shot saving technique is distinctly iffy. Look at the second goal last night - what was he doing? He tries to somehow look 'big' to the attacker, but then loses all balance and the abilty to react quickly, ending up not being able to make any attempt at all to stop the shot. I wouldnt want him in goal at all.

Paston - to be summed up in two words "Below Average". Moss should have had at least the second have, he was after all named in the starting line up!

Rikki gave Paston a chance to make up for a poor showing last time out in a game that didn't matter, gave the lad a chance to get some confidence.   He didn't take it..............

Let's be fair. Paston played like a guy who hasn't had much game time. Can't blame him for that!

Love to hear from Ricki why Moss didn't get a run. Must be a reason. Before the game Moss was quoted as saying how much he was looking forward to competing against someone of Beck's calibre.

Moss has been sensational this season and I fear we'll lose him sometime soon.

He could more than hold his own in higher (paid) leagues overseas. Maybe it'll be second time lucky for him as he's already had one crack at it without much success.

But now he's a couple of years older, and a better keeper. And still young.

Could he and Spoonley have shared that 2nd half? I understand the game was played with pretty liberal replacement rules.

According to Stuff the agreement was that each team could make up to 10 subs. Very suprised not to see either Spoonley or moss on in the second half!!!

It was an exhibition game ! Perfect to give fringe players a run and to let RH see who can step up if he ever needs them for a REAL game.

Lay off Pasty, he's down on confidence and the best way to get it back is for game time, the LA game (yawn) was pefect for this purpose.

Would anyone criticising him rather he was chucked in for Mossy (if he was injured) without some much needed games under his belt in a REAL game?

Also, I thought Brownlee looked OK , he was direct and looked quite sharp and with more game time would be useful. All the other young guys could have got a run, the score wasn't important.

So, in a nutshell, that's what exhibition games are for, anyone who knows football surely knows this much. The A-League (at this moment in time) isn't the place to play guys just for game time.
