It would need to be Fire Proof too then there's little chance of having to watch a home match outside Wellington!!!

- we could all bring a torchNormo's coming home
If we travel up we can teach them how its done. I would expect the same crowd numbers as the stadium though.
Good luck with that.
We're not here to make friends, and it'd be a legendary road (and air/water) trip

A dog with a bone :)
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

It's not like it's completely outside of the realms of possibility to hire some powerful lights like they did for the U-17 womens world cup.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Think Hamilton would be a very good option. The city has been very proactive in getting top-class sports events, and I'm sure they'd do a very good job of promotion and marketing for the game. Hamilton itself is a decent sized city (for NZ, that is) and has Auckland in the near vicinity, as well as BoP, so with good marketing the crowd could be a very good one.
The other options, in order of preference:
Christchurch - have given decent support for the Nix in pre-season matches played there in the past, and perhaps deserve a regular season game for that previous support. Dunedin isn't that far away, so perhaps supporters from there could also end up boosting the numbers. The potential downside is the proverbial parochialism of the Cantabs - from memory, the Warriors didn't get flash crowds when playing in Chch (perhaps something to do with the weather, think it was pretty bad every time the Warriors played there), but maybe has something to do with Cantabs (gross generalisation here!) not all that fussed with supporting teams that have a clear regional identity from other parts of New Zealand. Potentially risky IMO (i.e. the crowd could end up being 4-5,000, hardly worth taking the game away from Wellington for that).
Napier - clear upside is that there's a lot of Nix fans over there, and not too far for Wellingtonians to get there. The stadium is currently having work done for RWC 2011, so don't know what the capacity is right now. The place itself is not that big, so an aggresive marketing campaign would need to be launched in accross the wider region (Hawke's Bay, Manawatu, Wairarapa) to get a good crowd. Could be too much trouble for it's worth.
Auckland - shouldn't get it purely based on a matter of principle. Failing twice with a professional football team is a blight on a city that likes to portray itself as the place to be in NZ. But still has a very large population, and some very good football people there. But getting to Hamilton isn't really that much more trouble for Aucklanders than getting to NHS or Mt Smart, so I think a sizeable chunk of football supporters would head down to the Tron for a Nix game.el grapadura2009-03-02 12:03:13
Sick of being laughed at tbf.
Three for me, and two for them.
