Imagine the Haitians that couldn't attend though. They'd be crushed.

Plus the atmosphere would be very flat.

PUKEKOHE

I've supported the Nix, man and boy. Spent millions of $$$ on them. The very least they could do is play a game in my town as a thank you to me for being a fanatical supporter. There are countless tens of fans in Pukekohe who would jump at the chance to see the Phoenix in action just down the road. These fans are fanatics and would be at every home game, if it wasn't so far away.

Come to Puke, all the onions you can eat.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

If Wellington Airport can be in Paraparaumu at one point, why not the Wellington Phoenix. Weka Park FTW.

It has to be Queenstown, for sure. All the tourists would flock along, and there are direct flights in from Australia.

Don't worry about the fact we'd have to get transfer flights, the fact the Aussies could fly direct would mean the place would be a sell-out

With that much guaranteed money up for grabs, and taking the game to the people around New Zealand, the New Zealand Phoenix would be onto a winner

How many NZ'ers are in Queenstown anyway (other than Tom and family)?  Might pull in the Daniel and Diego fan club in Little Brasil (Wanaka)

Plus it would be cheaper to fly to Seednee from Wgtn than to Q'town.

Bangkok - market the A-league as an alternative to that sh*t league in england and teams like Man U and Perennial strugglers Liverpool. Imagine how many Phoenix shirts we could sell. Also, it would show Bin Hamman how committed we are to being an Asian team.

Most importantly it would mean I finally get to see the Phoenix play outside of my computer screen.

Darwin. They've been trying to get a club so they can enter the S League, so are hungry for football.

Postgate Park out in Whitby. It's got goals already set up, so it's good to go.

Plus, I can sit on my deck and see at least half the pitch.

I know it's technically still in the Wellington region, and the NZ Phoenix have a responsibility to grow football in this country, but I'm feeling particularly selfish and naive today...

Whanganui, specifically using the H in promotion. That way, the away fans won't be able to find it on the map and will have no bloody clue where to go! Also it'll still get to be held at Westpac Stadium (or is it Westpac Park? Meh, don't care).

We could rebrand ourselves as the Whoenix especially for the game.

There are direct flights from Wellington to Queenstown...

...though transfers are cheaper. Saved a bundle by spending a few hours in Christchurch when I went there last year. Only downside was I had to spend a few hours in Christchurch.

What's wrong with Christchurch?

I heard they've got a pretty good football team that sometimes play away home games in Wellington and Palmy?

Exactly - but that team insults the city by playing most of its home matches in Wellington, and even worse, adopts the colours and name of this city! The fact that Christchurch lets the Phoenix get away with that just shows a lack of civic pride. Poor show. The Phoenix are clearly a Christchurch team, the Cantabs should stand up for themselves and demand something like this:
