Ifill is the man!
but I have to credit Smeltz with leading a resurgence in NZ football...and scoring two great goals aginst Wales...
could they be in the same team? probably not in the A-league...

A Brownlie + George strikeforece, with G** and Elrich surging up and down the wings and delivery inch-perfect balls.
Djimi Traore played in a CL Final...just saying.
Three for me, and two for them.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Eh? This is in the Wellington Phoenix discussion forum and it's a question of who people would prefer in their team. It's not about the AWs as your response seems to suggest.

Different styles here guys. My hearts saying Smeltz but my heads saying Ifill. I also stand by the 'if its not broken, dont fix it' philosophy. Ifill's definitely not broken, so its going to be hard for anyone to say they would rather someone else in the squad.
But what I do think is that they would complement each other well if they were ever to play alongside each other. Smeltz on the end of one of those Ifill crosses that we've been seeing weekly, you would have the best attacking duo in the competition. And with Greenacre in the mix as well... I drool at the prospect.
I don't understand how Smeltz scores so often. He doesn't have amazing pace, tricky moves, height, muscle or anything. I think he manages through positioning and heading ability.
Ifill has tricks, heading ability, positioning, pace (at times) etc. All round a better player.
