This. We've invested in a fourth mic so we can say good riddance to that one.  And we've purchased mic stands so no more used subway cups.

Agreed. God forbid, people will start thinking we're competent all of a sudden!

In Phoenix news this week, the pod looks at Chris Greenacre's and Michael Boxall's new contracts, and chat to Jeremy Brockie and Paul Ifill about the Olympics and Phoenix pre-season. Speaking of Olympics, there's a guild to the other groups, and a look at warm up games for both the Olywhites and Football Fern. And in local football, both Wairarapa and Nelson vie for ASB Premiership entry, while the semi-finalists of the Chatham Cup are found.

Guild?

Are you guys sure that it used to be semis for national draw in the cup? I swear the last 5 or 6 at least has been national at quarters? I'm pretty sure Mirimar came down here to play tech in a quarter in 08.

Fixed boxy.

I've gone back and checked.  It's changed a bit. 2011 was national at 1/4.  2010 was national at semis. 2009. National at quarters.

National at 1/4 is the way to go I reckon.  At most, teams will have two games where they need to fly (unless Nelson draw a dunedin team0, because the final is paid by NZF.

For the central region, the combining of capital football and central football happened a round earlier this year, so the minging central teams got weeded out earlier.

I did try and argue that Hood was a reasonable airfield.  If they run drags on the runway it needs to be smooth and long... (ooo-errr)

I agree. The 1/4's is a nice balance. Last 16 would be nice, but a little early. Could result in 3 length of the country trips for one team.

Not sure if this is intentional, but much faster downloading time this week, think about 24mb rather than the 45 or so it usually is, so cheers for that.

Yeah realised we were saving in 128kbp.  Have gone back and update them all so they are much smaller now.

Episode 18 of In The Zone see the panel chat to David Dome, General Manager of the Wellington Phoenix, about the Phoenix's new season and club membership packages, and the prospect of Team Wellington curtain raisers. In Olympic news, they assess the Olywhites' first game loss to Belarus, the Football Ferns two losses to Great Britain and Brazil, as well as the round one clashes of Groups A, B and D. In local news, Upper Hutt are crowned Premier League champions, the Central League heats up, and Chatham Cup semi-finals are just around the corner.
